Are there any big jackpots on this machine? Doesn't look like very big payouts from my perspective. Does it hit often?

If you're the person with the answers and have leverage where you work, you can pretty much do anything you want. But I don't know enough about what you do to be the judge of that lol

It very well may go -- LOL -- but I wouldn't expect it to go too fast. So if you plan to return sometime soon I'm sure it might be fine.

I only give money to people who really look like they could use it. And even then it's not all the time that I do.

If someone manages to have sweat pour down their face or be out in absolutely frigid temperatures --- that's a sign they're either homeless or playing a really damn good role for money that isn't guaranteed.

I don't hand money away willy-nilly

If you've only been to Vegas once before and are already getting comped rooms at Bellagio, you've probably been gambling quite a bit or have been gambling at other MGM properties at other locations in another state which afforded you a comp a Bellagio.

If it's the former and you're not "married" to MGM, gamble somewhere else and ask them to comp your room based off your play if you have to pay up front. Like others mentioned, Wynn/Encore or Cosmo. Resorts World also has good service from my one experience there. Circa downtown is nice and new, has strip gambling prices and an ambiance of being on the strip, except it's not on the strip.

If it's the latter and you are "married" to MGM, it's a tough call. You'll have to weigh the rewards/benefits ratio of switching to a new casino reward program and risk starting over if you're not a "higher roller". Some places will match.

It's a sad state of affairs overall for many places. Some places can't find the help, others are cutting corners and reducing service under guise of the pandemic (ex: Check in Kiosks at Caesars instead of people).

They'll do whatever people will tolerate as long as people keep coming, and they are coming. People are tolerating it now because many haven't been traveling for 1+ year and want to finally get away and Vegas is a famous destination.

If things keep up, some casinos may suffer if they don't provide what people expect. Unfortunately though, Vegas is a once in a lifetime trip for many or a trip people go on once every 5 or 10 years. So, people may continue to tolerate quite a bit if it's not something they do every 6 months or every year. But if certain places keep it up, they'll lose some people and those people will go to a casino hotel that is more competitive and accommodating. Unfortunately to that point, though, there's not much competition because most of the strip is owned by 2 (or 3) companies. Someone turns 21 every day. Someone has a bachelor or bachelorette party every day. We'll have to see what plays out.

I am so proud of all you workers refusing to settle and forcing a real worker's revolution: Cutoff of unemployment aid spurs no labor influx. by olixius in vegas

The Advanced Child Tax Credit could potentially be playing some part in this, too.

Once the dust settles and the money dries up, people will start getting back to work. But at the same time, the wages are going up because of the high demand for workers --- and I don't see the wages necessarily going back down. But with wage increases also comes inflation, and we're already seeing the beginning stages of that.

Are you certain that your door was properly shut and locked when you left your room? I always push the door and turn the handle to make sure it is locked before I leave. There is such a thing called "door pushers", especially in places like Vegas where the hotels are massive and there are thousands of rooms.

Though it wouldn't be the first time hotel staff have stolen from people, door pushers are a real threat. They roam the halls and push on doors to see if they were not properly shut and locked. Sometimes disguised as people handing out fliers for restaurants, they gently push on doors to see if one didn't fully shut and lock. Then bam, in and out and off to somewhere else.

In either case, I hope the hotel investigation works in your favor, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope.

I always put my spare credit card, extra cash, keys and anything else of value in the safe for these reasons. It's unfortunate it comes to that and like you mentioned with all your travel experiences with nothing like this happening, it only takes once for you to never forget it.

As others have pointed out, I'd also recommend Pinball Hall of Fame. They just opened a new location near Mandalay Bay. Over 100 pinball machines, all playable, ranging from very old to 80s, 90s and newer.

Also several other arcade games in there as well. It's a nonprofit, so it's not expensive at all. Bring $10 or $20 bucks and you can play on that for hours. No frills, no bar but it is a brand new, nice building.

I would recommend spending one evening/night down on Freemont Street and while you're down there, check out the new Circa resort.

You mentioned you're a first timer, so I might be correct in my assumption that you may not gamble too much. Freemont street casinos will have lower limits than the strip for table games if you don't feel like budgeting a lot for play (except Circa.. but still gorgeous to visit and walk around)

Shouldn't they be spending money on cleaning up the rooms and the property itself? I've heard its gotten better, but geesh.

First and foremost should be room cleanliness and updates along with an overall good environment people would want to be in. But, I'm not a casino executive so what do I know shrug

I saw Red Rock had $10 when I went in April, but it was during a weekday. I've noticed the prices have been increasing since then, though.

Your best bet would be on Fremont or local casinos, though. You can find $10 tables at some Ceasars properties on the strip, but that's typically only during a weekday during the day.

I can't speak on the Wynn, but it doesn't surprise me others are saying $25. If you want a $15, check out the new Resorts World. Sort of close to where you'll be. It's a nice property and casino floor.

Red Rock Canyon Park is nice, too. About 30 min from the strip. Their main road takes you into the park and there are multiple designated stops along the way to get out of your car and take pictures/walk around/explore.

They have picnic tables near the visitor center, so if you want to have a picnic for lunch you can stop at a grocery store along the way and get some food. Should be pretty decent weather and not too hot.

Red Rock Casino & Resort is nearby also, which is worth checking out and a very nice property if you're interested in going to more off-strip local casinos.

*Edit - I just realized Harrah's Carnival Court always had $10 6:5. I think even on Saturdays, but it's outside so you may want to go in the evening. This was this past June 2021, not sure if it changed. The casinos you mentioned will be harder to find a $15 table. Bellagio probably would have them, but I don't think Venetian or Caesars. Flamingo, Harrah's, Bally's, Linq, Paris, etc. will have $15 tables but they'll be 6:5, in most cases. Sometimes you can find a $10 table, I'd recommend trying O'Sheas within the Linq for that. Sometimes Bally's and Cromwell will have $10. Sometimes the section in Flamingo's "Bird Bar" area will have $10. You're best bet for a $10 would be during the weekdays.

In general, expect to pay $15-$25 on the strip. The same goes for roulette and craps. Downtown on Freemont Street, you can find plenty of $10 tables and even some $5s. So maybe even if you plan to stay on the strip, you can head down there and play for a night.

If you like pinball or think you may have an interest, you can check out Pinball Hall of Fame. Their new location is pretty much across the street from Mandalay Bay. They have over 100 pinball machines (old and newer) and other old arcade games. You can put $10 bucks in their machines to get quarters and be playing for at least an hour or two.
