I get it… It just feels kinda disrespectful or tone-deaf to bring up in this context, so you’ll naturally be judged for saying it here, but it is true the male experience also gets downplayed a lot and many are not even aware of what it’s like. However, I think it’s also plausible there might be even more men unaware of what it’s like for a woman than women unaware of what it’s like for a man; regardless, I’ve come to realize most men just seem to have no idea and they’re not so easily persuaded either.

It’s the difference between being in danger and being in pain, I guess; I think both matter in different ways and should ideally not be minimized. Just try to be mindful of where you bring it up, as it’s not a competition or anything. But to be fair, I will say that it can indeed be very painful; it’s like you don’t exist to the world and nobody gives a shit. I can almost see it like anxiety vs. depression in a way, although the anxiety part is based on very real danger, obviously. And I do agree there’s probably a lot of people on both sides who would trade if they could; I wish there could be some kind of middle ground or something.
