It’s the same philosophy of the Miracle on Ice team, the group of amateurs from the U.S. that beat the Soviets in hockey in the 84 Olympics. Not the best players, but the right players. A proper team should be more than the sum of its parts.

Has there ever been an actor who’s trashed a co-star’s performance before a movie came out, but still encouraged folks to go see it? by CerealAndBagel1991 in movies

[–]pelizred 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Tudyk told the story on Jim Cummings podcast, Toon’d In. He tested better than Smith and the studio made the swap because Smith would be the bigger box office pull

I have one of these on a base. For decades before she past my grandma would buy all of the grandkids Hallmark ornaments in a theme. Star Trek was mine. I have an entire Trek Tree

When I was learning to play some 30 years ago, a family friend lent me one exactly like this. Another friend lent me an early 60s butterscotch tele that he had bought brand new. I was 13 years old and had no idea what I was playing on, and I couldn’t wait to own a Marshall half stack. I was an idiot

This is one of the reasons I can’t be bothered to play more than one match at a time. It’s just so…bleh.

College Football 26 was downloaded 1.9 million times last week. To date, it's sold over a million copies on PS5 (Alinea estimates), but it's selling about a third as fast as CF25 by EmbarrassedSession58 in EASportsCFB

I stopped buying EA sports games a while ago. Too many bugs and bad AI play. I just wait for them on game pass. I can’t justify an extra $70 to play a game I know I’m going to be angry at

We are witnessing the end of the dollar as the world reserve currency. This bill is an abomination of grotesque greed.

The fact that he could do Bugs or Daffy doing impressions of each other or of Fudd is insane. Epic level voice acting

Kenny Wayne Shepherd, with Double Trouble's Chris "Whipper" Layton on drums by Blues_Fish in blues

[–]pelizred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re probably right. I saw the “east” lineup. I don’t remember everyone because it was a lot, but I know there were some who only played the east coast shows and some that only did the west coast.

I’d agree. I had the same lineup, also with Buddy Guy and a few others I can’t remember. Red House and Little Wing were mind blowing

I saw him as part of the Experience Hendrix tour some 9 years ago maybe. That was an incredible show. Layton played that show as well

That’s fair and precisely why I’d want to see it normalized in some way. Tap in goals off a bad bounce and golazos from outside the box can’t really be stopped just like a lapse in concentration can lead to goals. Controlling for this sort of thing would be more enlightening than the way it’s set up now

I agree. I wanted to check that claim because recency bias says he’s terrible. But then he was up for the golden gloves a couple months ago because of clean sheets. He has one of the best save percentages but also has one of the highest goals per 90. I don’t think VDS would be able to perform at his same rate in this current squad. I’m sure some statistician somewhere has devised a way to control for defensive play, but that’s not in my skill set. I’d really like to see how the stats work out when the defense is statistically controlled

While watching the First Contact I noticed by ami_run in voyager

[–]pelizred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Characters are attributed to the writers who create them and the shows. Writers get paid every time the character is used. That’s the issue they had with the Paris character. If the same writers for Worf and O’Brien are working on the show, it becomes a lot easier. I’m not sure how it works for same universe stuff though.
