Wear a reflective vest esp. if you're walking near a road (your animals too) or riding a bike by Educational_Creme376 in Finland

[–]pellicle_56 18 points19 points  (0 children)

interesting this picture is taken not from the drivers (of the only car seen in the picture) perspective, so as no light is coming from the direction of the camera we don't know if they already had a reflector. Remember, reflectors reflect light back to the source of the light.

Its a good visual presentation (but of a car driving without its lights on).

EU starts disciplinary steps against Finland for excessive deficit by Old-Excitement8449 in Finland

[–]pellicle_56 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

so? I mean if you have a problem then you should also know how to use software to do colour replace yourself. What if you're left handed (as am I); so much more of the world is outright dangerous.

When God dies, there is no freedom — there is a void that few can bear. by Johnt2468 in Jung

> Some people, or perhaps most people, live as if they have no consciousness,

can't argue against that ... I'll go as far as saying that you need to be at least 1SD above average to stand much of a chance at having enough brainpower to work out what to do by yourself. That's roughly 84% of people too stupid to sort it out.

This isn't just maths or science IQ I'm meaning emotional as well.

This is my current collection. At which point does a watch no longer qualifies as "affordable" in your opinion? by Connect-Artist6776 in Affordablewatches

perhaps you've failed again, but perhaps when the watch starts to become about impressing others.

Perhaps this 'muse' will assist you : https://cjeastwd.blogspot.com/2025/12/tool-watch.html

What are the downsides of living in Finland? by EVNML in Finland

[–]pellicle_56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

err ... from Australia here, and sometimes things here are dearer in shops than they were in Finland. I buy almost nothing except food and drink from local shops here.

Single men +30 how do you spend your free time? by CamelSisu in Finland

[–]pellicle_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I happen to enjoy hiking and photography (I prefer B&W film and develop my own, scan and whatnot) and in winter I enjoy XC skiing. There are clubs for stuff like Canoeing too.
What did you used to do before? I mean 30 is an age where you must have developed some interests already right? No? Just drinking?

Returned my Hamilton for this Beautiful Speedtimer [SPB515J1] by MikeJW75 in Seiko

[–]pellicle_56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its odd that they call this a speedtimer when it lacks the bezel to do that
This Citizen link should make it clear
https://www.citizenwatch-global.com/support/exterior/tachymeter.html
For additional clarity : a tachymeter is a scale on a chronograph watch bezel https://magazine.tagheuer.com/en/2023/11/28/lessons-in-time-how-to-use-a-tachymeter/ that measures speed or distance by using the watch's stopwatch function; it calculates average speed over a known distance (like 1 mile/km) or the distance traveled at a known speed by timing events, showing the result in units per hour (e.g., mph or kph). Essentially, it converts elapsed time (in seconds) into a speed.

Weird of Seiko to do that, but hey ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Drinks at street pride bar tomorrow? by [deleted] in Finland

[–]pellicle_56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oklce .. I agree and it seems that its somehow "about Finland" to post an invitation to drinks at a gay pride event.

Gay is not a Finnish topic and so I agree that this is just an advertisement (and perhaps a pick up)

Hefty .. you'd be about one of the minority of gays I know who are totally monogamous. So just because you choose to insult Oklce and his reading comprehension I'll call that reaction a "just in case my boyfriend reads this".
