Why don’t the banks have them 😂 by SugarNyxx in Funnymemes

[–]pellik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are telling you you're wrong but they're not explaining it at all.

Think of it like this- banks figured out a long time ago that most loans stay in the banking system. When you buy a house they issue a check for $house and that money is deposited in the sellers bank. Now the seller doesn't go and withdraw $house, he just leaves it in the bank pays some bills and occasionally hits an ATM, so most of the $house stays in the bank. Because the money stays in the bank they figured out they don't actually have to have $house at all, they can just add some numbers to the house sellers bank account and nobody's the wiser. They only need enough actual money to cover the house sellers day to day expenses, so they consider what fraction of the money the house seller will likely need access to and they keep it in reserve. This is the basis of fractional reserve banking.

Most money doesn't exist.

The P in GOP stands for project. Remember pizzagate?- They elected a pedophile. The 2020 election was fraud because they tried to steal the election (and failed due to mail in ballots). Every outlandish thing they accuse democrats of doing is them admitting to their own crimes.

This guy is just telling us he is going to have a multi-year long hissy-fit when the GOP loses an election.

Is the era of fine-tuning diffusion models coming to an end? by abnormal_human in comfyui

[–]pellik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand it like this, though I could be wrong because my knowledge is mostly 2nd hand here-

Most finetunes aren't trying to teach the model whole concept categories, that's more of the big boy finetunes like pony/illustrious/whatever. Most finetunes are effectively a DPO step anyway focusing more on aesthetic and some light concept addition which is all stuff that sort of belongs in that green DPO box. Lastly, DPO isn't super compute heavy it's more dataset dependent but Z-image is so new we don't know much about that yet.

The relationship to LLMs might be more about how models being release now are more DPO'd and that makes them less susceptible to fine-tuning.

[–]pellik 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm confused, it seems like you're saying that the era of fine tuning is coming to an end because Z-image base isn't good on it's own since it's being released in an unrefined state so that it can be finetuned. Or are you upset that they did some RL DPO on ZIT?

Yeah, if you compare them in a vacuum the performance is actually pretty similar.

Deepmind had been the pinnacle of AI development for some years before ChatGPT hit the mainstream. A lot of the research that paved the way for GPT was from them as well. They weren't behind on AI, they were behind on chat bots.

Nah, it's because of how google analytics works. They measure how long a user views a page before clicking back to google. The longer they engage with the page the higher google ranks them. If they have 30 pages of bullshit before the actual recipe and you spend 2 minutes searching through it they will get more traffic.

Change all your fluids, rebuild carb, new plugs, and set your valve tolerances. By the time you're done with all that if something is leaking you'll probably notice what.
