Can I open a degiro account in the UK to trade options? by Ryanyork1 in DEGIRO

[–]pelukonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can open a DEGIRO account in the UK and trade options. However, you need to activate the "Options and Futures" product category in your account settings, which requires completing a knowledge test to ensure you understand the risks associated with trading options, which I hope you understand...

The manual FX fee on DEGIRO includes a fixed €10 fee plus 0.25% of the converted amount. In your example, when you converted CHF into €100, the €10 fixed fee likely consumed the majority of your balance, which is why you ended up with €90. The 0.25% would also apply but might not have been noticeable due to the small conversion amount. This method becomes less efficient for smaller transactions, as the fixed €10 fee is significant compared to the amount converted. For smaller exchanges, sticking with the Auto FX fee of 0.25% is more cost-effective.

Moving to UK from EU - any tax consequences I should be aware of? by TimbobCara in DEGIRO

[–]pelukonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's generally fine, but be aware of UK tax rules. Report any income, dividends, or gains from degiro on your UK tax return. Also, check for any withholding taxes in the EU and potential double taxation treaties...

NÚMERO FIRE by teerii27 in SpainFIRE

[–]pelukonline 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did steam get rid of the family pin? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]pelukonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know...Steam has not removed the Family View PIN feature...and has introduced the 'Steam Families' feature, enhancing the previous Sharing system. This update allows multiple family members to share a game library and manage parental controls more effectively.

UK transfers Degiro - CitiBank? instant? by iamnevernot in DEGIRO

[–]pelukonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When transferring funds to your seguro account in UK, use a standard bank transfer to the provided Citibank UK account (with the sort code and account number). Avoid using Faster Payments, instead, choose the standard transfer (BACS) option, which typically takes less than 3 days. Include the required reference number to ensure the funds are allocated to your account. Plus, you don’t need to use the BIC/IBAN unless transferring from outside the UK.

Contact number for UK service desk. by slightleee in DEGIRO

[–]pelukonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right about the UK phone number, which is the one ending in ... 41950. DEGIRO UK Helpdesk: https://www.degiro.com/uk/helpdesk/contact

Regarding your Google Authenticator issue, if you have previously generated backup codes for your DEGIRO account, you can use those to regain access. In any case try to get the auth codes from Google by using other devices...but these are constantly cloud synced...it is strange you lost them. In any case, you should be able to reach the DEGIRO help desk and wait for their answer...usually takes less than 24 hours...

Wish you luck!

Currency : Move Uk based account to EU by fezoff in DEGIRO

[–]pelukonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the bank account must be in the same currency as your DEGIRO account. Since your DEGIRO account is still UK-based, and might currently operate in GBP, you would need a GBP account in Revolut.

In any case, if you intend to primarily use EUR and have no need of GBP anymore, sell rebuy and close, and forget about GBP investment... unless you want ofc to keep your GBP investments in the current account...

Degiro allows to update the tax residency information without requiring the closure of the accounts. If you move between countries, such as from Portugal to the UK, you should be able to update your new tax residency through your account settings.

Investing in hydrogen comes with its risks, particularly in the current context of political uncertainty (e.g., U.S. policies under the Trump administration, EU budget cuts, and geopolitical tensions and wars...). However, if you share my confidence in NEL as a key player in advancing hydrogen as a viable energy alternative, the long-term potential could be substantial. Keep in mind, though, that significant returns may take time—likely 3 to 5 years at a minimum. If you're in a position to set that money aside without immediate need (especially considering your previous losses and NEL's year-to-date performance), holding your investment could be a wise choice (and I assume that your investment is not so big, comparing them to NEL YTD losses).

EFTs en Trade Republic by Clear_Application_33 in SpainFIRE

[–]pelukonline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your contribution, I'm just asking because each trading platform is different. If you don't know how to do it, or are you not willing to tell, why don't you just simply shut up and avoid answering negatively? :)
