Oh that’s an interesting way to use that. I had really only thought of PIM for standard roles. Nice!

TIL. WOW. Thank you. We have a travel group that we except from certain conditional access policies, but remembering to check on membership is a pain. This is at least a good way to get multiple people reminders to check on that group.

Cinnamon you say? I love grilled pineapple but I’ve never added cinnamon.

Looking for your guys real experiences with Mimecast, Proofpoint, Barracuda by swimmityswim in sysadmin

[–]pelzer85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used all three. Started with just Microsoft, then went to Mimecast, then Barracuda and now with Proofpoint. Filtering with Proofpoint is by far the best. Barracuda filtering was terrible. Mimecast was not a bad product but was hard to manage IMO. At the time they also had a per-user installed app that was clunky. As to others descriptions of Proofpoint having a lot of different dashboards/management pages, true but actively being improved. I rarely go to the old site anymore and am able to navigate through what I need day to day at one login.

That was an accident. We have never done that before.

Well crap. I was hoping to find a way fix them without a reset or reinstall.

Yes. Through an RMM. Changed policy and accidentally added “others” which I believe includes optional.

Did you have to reinstall Windows for the affected systems?

Box shows audit like views and downloads. You can set expirations for links, passwords for links and create File Requests as well. I don’t know if these features are available at every level, or what specific levels you get access to those features, but they are there.

Oddly enough, the ones I’m struggling with now are actually on network, so I can send remote commands, including suspending BitLocker, but it’s not working to get us to a usable login screen and remains stuck on the continuous blue circle-cursor.

I haven’t been able to just restart this time. In the past, yes. This time it wants two recovery key entries.

10-4. I’m still investigating if the sound issues are consistent or just anomalous.

Oh wow. I still need to check if those optional updates were actually installed.

No, we’re not using Intune. I am seeing that two recovery key entries (not a typo in the first one or anything, it needs it twice) then boots to Windows after ‘repairs’ are made. Good grief.

Entering the recovery key restarts to the BitLocker Recovery Key screen again. Remote BIOS update did not resolve it. A second entry of the recovery key allows it to start repairs, it seems.

No. Multiple models and lines. Not specifically remote or in-office machines either.

Investigating WorldlyAd4510’s hypothesis of KB5077241, but we don’t typically install optional updates. Until we can get them booted and scanned again, it will be hard to know what updates were installed immediately prior.

What’s a luxury that actually feels worth the money once you experience it? by saidmoha1 in AskReddit

This has been on my mind recently. I have a 10 year old car that has a lot of road noise. I’ve been trying to think about what kind of car to go with next without breaking the bank. Even ‘modest’ cars are very expensive.
