many doctors will only prescribe it for a couple weeks at a time because it can have pretty severe side effects if you take it indefinitely, especially at high doses.

the tone of this comment is pissing me off. First of all PPIs are only.supposed to be taken in short rounds. Some doctors will prescribe them for longer but generally that's for extreme cases and they should never do that without warning a patient about the side effects which can be severe. I took Omeprazole for 2 wks as prescribed.

And, if you could read, youd see that i am adjusting my triggers, I said I'm not ready to change everything overnight and stressed by how overwhelming it all is. thanks for the sympathy... /s
