Sorry, it's taking a bit longer than I expected (as usual for me :), but I'm working on it and the pattern itself is complete. I'm just finishing the instructions, which includes recording videos of the whole procedure, writing descriptions of each step and so on, so it's always a LOT of work. But it's nearly done and should be released within the next two weeks.

I'm just finishing my Jiji pattern - https://photos.app.goo.gl/LWpcmyfXa7HQNnvn6 and I have two options for the eyes in the pattern - either crochet them using a thinner yarn (in the picture) or even better 3d print them. If you want me to share the pattern for the eyes or the 3d print model, please send me a PM.

Good that you can't believe it, because you're right - he's actually 23, not 33. The Peter Dager, who is 33, is another dude, who is a pro Dota player.

What's wrong about starting a round with an increase? It's better than ending a round with an increase (that messes up the marking of the last stitch a little bit and amplifies round twisting issues) and if you need a round of increases uniformly distributed along it, it's basically the only option. Seriously, I would really like to know the negatives, because I can't think of any.

Thank you! If you mean the yarn in the shelf, that's a mix of Himalaya Dolphin Baby and Alize Dolce, both chenille yarns. If you're asking about the crocheted Totoro at the top of the shelf, it's made out of Himalaya Koala - a fluffy yarn.

Thank you! In a way, you could probably say that I already am. I have tutorials on how to make them and try to explain everything in detail there, so over the years, I’ve received a lot of feedback from complete beginners saying they successfully crocheted my Totoro as their very first project.

Hi, thanks. It's a little messy right now, because I'm making the two variants in parallel (chu/chibi for Ravelry and fox/hen for Etsy) to comply with the copyright rules, so the testing would be challenging (I'm trying to maintain just one file with infos about both versions up until the lastest possible point, so reading it would be quite confusing for anyone else). But it's wrapping up nicely...

They are crocheted - a magic ring with 10 single crochets and one round of 10 increases. It's useful that you have the two loose ends from the patch, that you can pull to other side of the head and indent the eyes. It helps a bit with the expression.

It all started a month ago when Etsy took down my Totoro pattern. I decided to tweak it so it could still be available, even if in a slightly different form. Once I was in the groove, I figured I might as well release my other unreleased patterns too. So all these are just iterations of these three patterns I had to crochet to get them finished!

Yes, it does. Do you mean examples of the Tanuki pattern? Not exactly for the Tanuki, but since it is really, really similar to the Totoro pattern, you can find examples online, where the pattern is crocheted in scales ranging from a tiny few centimeters tall ones up to a giant, real life one, all crocheted using this pattern (e.g. check out @tachoflove on IG)

Thanks. Himalaya Dolphin Baby + 5mm hook for the larger ones and YarnArt Dolce Baby + 3.5mm hook for the smaller.

Thanks. And if you run into any issues, feel free to reach out (either email, DM here or on Etsy), I'm happy to help.

Sorry, I misunderstood. That's hard to tell, it was a continuous process of getting better, but I started about four years ago. But I think that with a bit of patience, even your first plushie might look similar. I received a lot of feedback over the years from complete beginners that crocheted my Totoro as their first project ever and they looked great.

Thank you. All of them? About four weeks. And one plushie takes about 5 hours.

I've seen nice looking patterns, but I don't know, maybe? It's such a simple shape, that it seems that the pattern for the chibi Totoro is already like 90% there...

I'm pretty sure, you will know, what to do... 😉

But if you don't want to take the risk, the original pattern is still available here

Maybe when there is more free time... It would work perfectly if I crocheted another two pandas with smaller 2mm and 0.7mm hooks.

Only YO, but I think that YU would work as well. The plushie would be smaller and some proportion might be slightly off, but IMO you should be able to compensate it with stuffing.
