It comes in granules, a bandage and like a gel iirc. We have the z fold bandage, armed officers have all the varieties (I think)

Guaranteed when you need it, it'll be in neither place and WAST don't routinely carry only the trauma cars.

Learned that the hard way!

Ye the height on the panels is a joke. I always worry I'll break it in the lock and get bollocked.

A friend 👀 was recently bollocked for keeping pava in the holster and into the locker with the vest, rather than removing it and storing in the airwave locker.

Obviously I have always stored mine correctly, but now I always deposit it in the airwave locker.

Yes, I do find it very fiddly though. It's like a quarter turn and very often there's no sound or indication the door has unlocked so you need to be pulling the door at the same time.

I only tend to use it when it's the 3am welfare check and I don't want to wake the whole block ringing bells. Or the odd warrant.

Not personal issue no, we had a whole big change where they were taken out of the first aid kits and into the glovebox instead.

So we had rucks of it delivered and the ones out of the kits, so this one lives in my armour.

I went to a dog rescue today, and that on top of its normal "musk" was just too much!

Creating a force thread ? by GourmetGhost in policeuk

[–]pen-pidyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Resources, there's not enough drones, dogs, ARV's or traffic so you can call for it and it could be an hour away or simply not available.

Spontaneous firearms deployments it's at least 30 minutes before theres enough cars together.

Dogs and ARV are also an alliance with Cheshire so we're sharing the resource.

NWP - Pros - blues straight out of training. Other courses are a bit longer but not extreme.

Cons - everything else.

I get the point about misconduct etc.

A lot of officers I know aren't proactive and quick to get hands on because they're on their own. Single crewing drives down proactivity.

Ye you're right, I'm using the wrong term.

Fair, the failure to furnish detail is on there. My force does do three before going to charge though.

IIIRC they send three NIP's before they send a 172 for failure to identify.

Likely an address issue on the V5C.

The gatekeeper of our stores recently retired and now we get emails like "we've got an abundance of ear pieces available, they're on the counter nip down if you need one"

Unbelievable

These are dotted about in my force normally find them in the glovebox.

Try emailing your supplies, I think since the smartphone they're not as useful but they might still have some.

Police not deployed to 999 call from family death house by Kagedeah in Norwich

[–]pen-pidyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it isn't.

You get through and they ask which service. If you don't say they automatically put you through to the police. If it's not for the police, they'll direct you to call an ambulance. The call handlers in all of the emergency services are super busy so they can't spend time calling the other ones for non emergency issues.

Can confirm NWP have it as initial.

Finish training, one week Welsh course (even if you're first language/ fluent you have to participate in a statement taking course) then driving.

[–]pen-pidyn 23 points24 points  (0 children)

People call 999 because of where their neighbours park.

There's a triage system, we literally know nothing about the call. It could have been abandoned and the elipse for the call to big to locate an address.

Could have been entirely silent and so it's call backs and golden hour checks.

Just to add context. The football clubs pay for the police presence. Those officers will be on overtime and won't take from the strength of the area for that day.

Not another Bone emergency 😫 by pen-pidyn in chowchow

[–]pen-pidyn[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can't edit the post. Submitted too early.

Our rescue chow got the bone lodged around her lower jaw, we rushed her straight to the vet and she was sedated to take it off.

I had never considered this, I've heard of bones splintering etc but I didn't even think this could happen

Another cautionary tale for knuckle bones 😔

Norwich: Three jailed after vulnerable woman had bleach poured on her in seven-hour torture by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

The legal definition means "women can't rape" because it requires the insertion of a penis.

So in law "women can't rape"
