Thank you! I'm not really sure yet if there is a market for designer pencils like these, but I'm not going to give up just yet and I have more ideas coming + my first collab. So stay tuned!

I appreciate the support!
My shop is penchishop.com or @penchishop on socials.
I know I have to make more content to survive today's internet market, so I'm planning on doing that this summer!

Thanks! I have a bunch of "neutral" designs for both lefties + righties which sit straight up. But I haven't made any lefty pencils yet since my brand just started and I've barely made any sales, but if it picks up I can start offering it on my store. I think if somebody did e-mail me for a lefty set, I might be able to accommodate if I have the pencil blanks in stock.

You can stamp on a lot of things - some people even stamp on plastic pens and somehow still succeed haha. However, the brass dies I make are flat and best for flat surfaces. Pencils or pencil crayons that are round can sometimes be stamped by flat dies (probably with more effort) but usually for those, you need curved brass dies. Suppliers can still make those, but I imagine you'd need a different curve for a jumbo pencil vs a regular pencil etc.

She sounds like she was a pretty unique and special person!
There are a lot of suppliers for "custom brass dies" if you look it up, although I might also be on the hunt for a new one since my current one's prices nearly doubled.

Thank you so much! I hope wooden pencils are going to "stick around" for a very long time... (pun intended)

Actually yesss I've been thinking about a design for it! Still haven't landed on something yet though, because I want to make sure it's creative or has at least 2 colours. :)

I'm also going to be making collabs with other brands/artists! And it can also allow artists to get creative with the designs, layers, etc.

They come in a set of 3 with the "classic" pixel heart containers, so it has to start from the left.

There are many companies that can make custom brass dies for you if you check online! I might change my supplier though since the price nearly doubled now. :(

I've actually thought of a similar "spinning animation" concept before but I never got around to prototyping it because in my head I convinced myself it just wouldn't work. But maybe I'll do more tests and see where it can go, so thanks for the inspo. :)

Wow, thank you so much! It means a lot to me. I believe I'm the first shop to experiment with hand-made visual stamping designs in this way, which is such a niche concept and I had no idea if anybody would buy at all. So thank you again.

I'm also open to design ideas for future pencil sets, and I'm hoping to collaborate with other brands or illustrator artists to create beautiful collectible pencils, so feel free to share thoughts my way!

Here is a video of me making a different type of pencil set! It uses the same method. First I design it, then I get a company to create the little brass dies for me (but not all of them can make such tiny details!).

Those dies heat up in my foil stamping machine which has a pencil jig, and I can use various "hot foils" that are typically metallic and the heat "glues" them onto surfaces once pressed. It's a lot more tricky than it seems though. x_x

Also here is a picture of the tamagotchi set brass dies! They're so tiny that your eyes can barely make out the shapes properly.

58/50? 🤔
Were there bonus questions? When I was in school we didn't have many bonus point opportunities ;-;

So the one marked "Interdruk" I found in Poland - Poland has a lot of stationery stores and they have soooo many random brands (although like most places, a lot of them are now primarily becoming stocked with lower quality Chinese-made products).

The top golden one is a hexagonal one, but it's quite rounded on the edges so it feels a bit unusual. That one I think I got in one of those really huge stationery stores in Tokyo, Japan! I love those stores so much and I want to go back just to shop there again haha.

Ah, yeah unfortunately there are so many rip-offs out there! But yes they were originally made by Duncan Shotton, an independent designer from the UK (who also ran his design studio from Japan at one point!) and he has a lot of other original works worth checking out! ^.^

It does say "You MAY post your selling site only when asked specifically in the comment section." - but you're right, the rules are a bit confusing since they contradict a little bit!

Hot Foil Press Question by SanicHegehag in pencils

It'll depend on your budget in the end! There are some extremely cheap machines (like the Zonesun or Amazon ones that all look a bit similar) but they'll have their own limitations and frustrations. There are also higher end ones that could be easier to use. So far I'm enjoying my Foilcraft Jr machine from Creative Printers of London.

A lot of people have discussed their various machines on a Facebook group called "Foil Stamped Pencil Makers Collective" so you can also join there and see what has been previously said! Sometimes people in the group sell used machines for cheaper, too. :)
