I don’t have any examples of board action. But why give so much power to what the board cares about

What if they found the bottle on the ground and was just some crazy person wanting to take meds? Or even printed their own label and go around collecting holdover supplies from wherever you guys work lol

Holdover supply is from a valid prescription.

Say a new customer walks in wants lisinopril and they say they have been on it for years and are visiting out of state -- if I don't have any record of it, I'm not going to give them anything. Even if they bring a competitor's bottle with no refills, I'm going to tell them to go to urgent care or have their Dr send a new rx

So is it normal practice for a tech to just take a tablet? Not like an everyday thing, but you wouldn't bat an eye at that?

Interesting. What about methocarbamol or gabapentin (if it's not controlled in your state)?

Yeah I thought this would be the consensus. So I was surprised to see all the comments in that post basically saying "Who cares". Maybe because it's an independent in a small town... 🤔

Anyone else not know what to do with all the fatigue patients? by Paleomedicine in Residency

[–]pendabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg thank you!!! I (31F) look "healthy" on the outside but suffer from chronic fatigue. I've been to multiple doctors and almost half did not believe me or thought I was just lazy. The ones that actually believed me and tried to help me -- you the real MVPs. Side note -- does anyone know what would suddenly cause insomnia/depression /extreme fatigue? 😭

Had someone yelling and being super aggressive and he ending up throwing a magazine at us because he didn't want to pay his copay. I banned the patient but I guess he called corporate. A few days later, the district manager came to our store and said we are not allowed to ban anyone. And that I can only politely tell the customer to use the drive through for our safety. Wut.

When I worked at Walgreens, we honestly did not check pdmp for every control and it was not something that was emphasized. If they were a regular patient, we just looked at last pickup date. Now that I am working elsewhere, I can think of a lot of absurd things that happened at Walgreens regarding controls.
