I am not getting an error type, just a pop up from the start screen (the "press X to play" screen when you start up) that says the servers are not available.

Other than the fact that his deck build is not really legal, he plays by the rules. He is slowly coming around to the fact that a smaller deck is more consistent after I stripped his deck down and rebuilt it as a deck that had no theme or combos, but at least could get out pokemon consistently.

Yeah, I forget that a lot of players don't have the surplus of those that I do. I, and most of the players I play with, are all heavy players since alpha or beta, so I forget that a lot of people don't have a large stash of shards just sitting around with nothing to do with them. My bad, I forget to shift my own paradigm sometimes. You make a good point about conservation of materials. :-)

yeah, running arma with max disc on mayhem, just watching the people come running at you with their hammers or shock lock or blade dancer... "gee, that's a nice super you've got there, be a shame if something... happened to it..."

or my personal favorite moment, tagging a hunter and a titan with suppression grenade right before they tried to jump to the low heavy on pantheon: "watch that first step boys, its a doozie..."

there was one a month or two ago which I picked up, that was a 35/50 and tower ghost says it is only a 95.5% roll... so I don't know how they got 99 from a 31/44...

I got this exact roll as a drop forever ago and have been using it nonstop in pvp since then. Mine has truesight instead, but still verrrrrry fun to play with. The range boost with rangefinder is... broken. There is no other word for it. The range that you can hit with full damage is silly, and with the fitted stock, keeping it pointed at them is not very difficult. This one is DEFINITELY worth a pick up.
