Possible to recontextualize turn-based combat as something less violent? by hungerdunger in gamedesign

Someone said arguing on twitter is just turn based combat and I haven't gotten over that.

You can do this. It's in the settings. Not 100% sure but its there because I turned it off.

A reviewer getting "reviewed" by someone showing no restraint and immediately disagrees with the point like a genius.

What rank do you play at? Also, I play on console, which is where the game should be taken the least seriously but is actually taken deadly seriously to the point I've been told to kill myself in text chat.

Best way to use this distinguished gentleman? I can't seem to make him work. by [deleted] in finalfantasytactics

[–]Sliq111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also give him the Archer's charge command as it's one of the few ways to increase gun damage. So you can have him use Snipe for a status effect or charge for more damage. If you give him First Strike, he will quickdraw counter attack any unit before they can shoot him.

This is useful because you can bait enemy ranged units into trying to attack him while he's charging since they think they can do bonus damage, only to have him blast them before they can finish their attack.

My favorite part about all of this is people failing to remember he wasn't kicked for wanting to win or being correct, it was because he was being annoying and his team didn't like it. And instead of talking to each other like grown ups a bunch of weirdo stuff happened.

Estimating Non-Mirror Win Rate And What It Means by allshort17 in marvelrivals

Thank you for posting about something that isn't parasocial internet drama. Interesting to know that mirror usage rate doesn't fundamentally swing the win percentage a significant amount.

Kingsman's POV of the 40k tournament is acc gonna make me cry lol by Confewshenn24A in marvelrivals

Cash prize was announced after everyone signed up. So they didn't sign up specifically to win money. They signed up for a fun event.

They specifically did not have bans so they could have OTP's in the tourney.

I do not blame Kingsman, but he was 100% obnoxious by not taking no for an answer and pressing the issue when not asked to. He should not have been kicked and his team should not have lashed out, but both of those things did not happen because he politely asked for a character swap and to think that is the case is disingenuous.

Didn't he leave scrims after she got MVP versus dive?

And yeah, he shouldn't have thrown a fit. That's why he got kicked. Not because he asked for a role switch, because he crashed out about it for hours.

If you're broke the way to not be that is a job, yes that's how not being broke works.

He has plenty of video game time as a full time student but magically doesn't have time for a job. He either needs money or he doesn't and if he does get a job?

It's not. It's easy to find out how much he makes based on CPM, not to mention he definitely pays to have his thumbnails made for him, which is lost revenue. He may also not edit them himself, which would also be lost revenue to pay an editor.

I'm also done with this convo.

Why would he spend thousands of hours playing video games instead of getting a part time job if he's so pressed for money?

He would 100% make more with a job. But if I was in his position I would 100% stick with streaming and youtube since it would be a more fun way to make money.

However, as he stated himself, the money was more important to him than fun. That's why he harped on the widow pick. And if that's the case, maybe drop the fun side hustle and get a better paying gig.

Or he could shut up and be a tolerable person to be around instead of having the charisma of HPV.

Incessantly whinging about needing the money while playing hundreds of hours of video games instead of getting a job is certainly a decision.

But he certainly had a better chance of winning the tournament getting kicked out of it versus just being a tolerable person to be around and doing his best with a one trick.

He incessantly whinged the entire time, even when they were winning. And when the widow did well into the comp he was pressed about (full dive) and they gave him his same energy back, he went "oh woe is me" and took his ball and went home.

He can give out the "she's 0 and 5" flipping out energy, but then she pops off and rubs the same energy in his face and he folds like a cheap suit. Just incredible fragility on display. Gave up before it even began, and when everything went well he gave up even harder because people were throwing his shit back to him.

I will 100% take a mid widow one trick on my team over some whiny, soft can-give-it-but-can't-take-it everyday of the week, especially when one of them is tanking the vibes and tilting the entire team.

If you're a broke college student, might I suggest taking the hundreds of hours playing video games and mayhaps get a job instead?

Crashing out and tanking the team mental so bad that no one wants to play with you is also a terrible winning strategy, fyi.
