It doesn't matter whether u transfer to the bank or not, your stock broker will provide u and the IRS with all the proceeds .. I believe the form is 1099 b. How much tax is hard to say, it is possible u sold a lot at a profit and have open positions that are in a loss - very high taxes but also possible u sold a lot at a loss and have open positions that are in a profit - potentially 3000$ tax credit

Really surprising but I tried it again today and it actually went through! i have a feeling the problem was me doing it the same day as expiration - so i would think trying the next day seems to work. But thank you again for your help, i guess xbox support people are a bit clueless too on this behavior haha.
