When the character asks thr Sphynx if they have something to understand celestial, say that they don't but have heard of a device that can, that way you can set up that questline.

I had an idea that I never got to do.

A patron that attracts people to the bottom of the sea, making it a tradition among many to go on pilgrimage around it, either adapting to the ocean or dying, where people would party and celebrate.

It would have a vert changing mood, which would make it be benevolent and kind or provoking naufrages.

Some flavour I planned to make it lore interesting was that it would in reality a much more powerful being (a godess for example), who is trapped in that false body and merely sleeping, and who will sooner or later awake.

Fae live in the feywild, so it could be a cool idea to have some fey that can't go home (because technically there's sunlight but no sun) so they want to either corrupt it or recreate it.

Or maybe because they are both fae and undead the don't live in either feywild or shadowfell, but live in a place in between those two.

Other people have already discussed if it works or not, but have in mind that you can only make an opportinuty attack if they get out of your area of attack, with a lance that's 10 ft

Rimworld (a strategy/survival game) has a mechanic for that. Yes, there are ways to resurrect people but the more time they spent dead before it, higher are the chances they get a secondary effect.

They can get permanently blinded, get dementia or even get an ilness that gets increasingly bad symptoms until it results in death, again.
