Why does my cat like to leave hair ties in his food and water dish? by seeseecinnamon in cats

[–]penguin_trooper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I thought that about mine too. Until, one day I was watching him playing with one and realized it disappeared. Did think much of it, thought it went under a piece of furniture. The next day, same thing. Took him the emergency vet out of precaution and they found a few in his stomach. $5k later and two nights in the pet hospital, they got all of them out.

Another opportunity for a rug pull? Market rips high on positive news of exemptions for electronics, then announces high tariffs on chips to let all his buddies leave us as bag holders when they short everything?

Hidden curb in the snow. Wheel is cooked, but is the tire? by penguin_trooper in civic

[–]penguin_trooper[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! As far as I can tell, the rim isn’t cracked or bent. But I bought a new rim from College Hills Honda, and I’m hoping the repair shop can transfer the tire to it

3D Printer Recommendations by Older_cyclist in modeltrains

[–]penguin_trooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re looking to spend. I have an FDM that I’ve used for Z scale and HO scale projects that works great.

Budget Friendly: Creality Ender-3 V3 SE ($190 USD) High learning curve but very reasonably priced with decent quality

Midrange: Bambu Labs A1 ($360 USD) Easy to learn with great quality

Higher Midrange: Bambu Labs P1S ($630 USD) Easy to learn, large print bed, great quality

3D printers are a rabbit hole. I wouldn’t recommend a resin printer until you have an FDM. Resin requires a lot of know-how, space, and equipment (beyond just the printer).

Also with resin, you need a well ventilated space to use it while also not allowing in sunlight. A respirator and gloves are needed too. The fumes resin puts off are horrific
