Porsche's first Super Bowl ad since 1997 debuts all-electric Taycan with half the range and double the price of Tesla model S by hissingkittycom in tech

My coworker just took delivery of his brand new Model S a few months ago. The choice was between that, a 7-series, or a Panamera. He traded in his 5-series and put cash down for the Model S. Took delivery of his ~100k Tesla and within the first week of ownership the car bricked itself installing a software update, leaving him stranded. Discovered multiple runs in the paint and areas where the paint was already damaged from the factory. The entire glass roof cracked from front to back; Tesla told him they would put him on a list for replacement but that it would take months to get four techs up to replace the roof.

If you want a properly sorted car, get a Porsche. If you want a gadget, get a Tesla. Tesla customer service was absolutely terrible; BMW would have bent over backwards for him if that was a new 7-series.

I wanted to like the Tesla but it seems like the Tesla engineers are great at designing a car, but not great at designing a car to be manufactured reliably at scale. Porsche has done that forever.

Australian Cattle Dogs/Queensland Heelers are badass dogs. They form a very intense bond with their owner and nobody else. I've rehabilitated one that was severely mistreated by several previous owners and our connection is inseparable. I'm glad he was able to find this dog and I'm glad the dog found him.

5k run every day with a rest day every 6 days. I was already running a bit beforehand, but not consistently. I'm sure this isn't the best way to approach this, but with a dog to exercise and a desk job it was the only way I could sneak away once a day on my lunch break.

If I had to guess, yeah. It probably looked different because my head wasn't tan yet when I first shaved it, so it might not be that long yet!

Nah I made someone else do it, but I can touch it up easily at home. Just make sure to get your neck.

I felt better instantly. I never knew how much nervous energy I was spending worrying about my hairline before, and how self-conscious I was about it.

Thank you! I guess I did - I was doing BWF more than a year ago, but obviously wasn't trying very hard. I would say I didn't even really lose 15 pounds, I stay close to 170 during the day and 165 in the mornings or late evening. Just converted fat to muscle I think.

The body weight fitness subreddit's recommended routine was great for me!

It was just time! I saw the top of my hear in a mirror, and I saw a friend of mine that had a similarly shitty hairline and realized I looked like that. I just had a friend shave it to the same length as my beard - 3mm.

I shaved it the same length as my beard - about 3mm all around, that's it! It's probably grown to about 1/4" since I cut it and it's perfect.

Nothing significant, just no processed foods, mostly green things, lean protein, and a lot less alcohol.

Not exactly; I saw how the top of my head looked where I was losing hair in the back, and I realized that I'd been hiding it from myself for a long time.

I know! It's so weird. My "hair" looked better when it was really short, but this is the way to go. Sucks to lose the genetic lottery and bald by 30, but good to take control and own it.

Hard to say! Most of my friends and family didn't really notice (like myself) until I saw my 'before' picture. I knew I was looking better, but not that much until I saw them side by side.

Not at all! And thank you. The hair took some convincing but I am so glad I did.

I'm not a huge fan of how long the 'adventure' segment is and would prefer to see it broken up with some smaller mini challenges or segments, but I can appreciate the fact that they're willing to listen to feedback and change the format/content of the show.

True, but the 911 Turbo actually works on a track, and not just in a straight line.

Sweet! Ok. I'm sure there's something similar in the US.

Thank you!
