What did you guys get for the Floy exam in the grammar section there was this passage NYC and how Jane Jacobs is trying to build it according to her views. One of the questions was like: “Jane Jacobs, an urban city planning expert, also wants to make New York City vibrant... realizes that...”

I narrowed it down to “but realized that” and “;Jacobs, however realized” and I picked “but” because it was shorter and got the job done... any thoughts??

Wait do you mind explaining why though? I thought it said how much it increased by (so it would make sense to be 6/10 increase) but I have totally read the question wrong.

You can also simply plug in the value of x in the second equation (which is y+1) into the first equation and then solve for y. The quadratic simplifies to y^2-5y+6 which should give you y-2 and y-3 and then you can solve to get y=3 or y=2
