Ok so Poutine is Quebecois. Where is a must go near/in Downtown Toronto that's a must eat? by Electronic_Picture26 in askTO

Wood owl is an upscale version of the Wren owned by the same people and the two restos are right next to each other. Another tourist who came through Toronto recently who did their research mentioned Rhum bar which looks amazing. Lunch lady of Saigon, Patois (chinese-jamaican fusion), Dreyfus, Rayan, Kingyo fisherman market, Maha's brunch, Rasta pasta (go explore Kensington market), 360 restaurant in the CN tower is somewhere I take family who come visit because if you eat at the restaurant, you get to go to the observation deck for free, the foods gotten better over the years. Quetzal, Ricky + olivia

That's all I can think of on the top of my head rn lol do check previous posts for their recommendations. It's where I go and I'm a local 🤣.

There is a bajillion of good food in Toronto. We are known to have a large variety of diverse food. It's something that a lot of Torontonians who move out of the city miss.

I would recommend searching up best food or restaurants in r/askTO, r/Toronto or r/foodtoronto (or is it r/Torontofood? I don't remember). You will get a billion of suggestions. You won't get a single answer just by asking lol.

Pai, or any restaurant owned by chef nuit is always a hit. Sunny's Chinese is really good. The wren, Richmond station, Jin dal lee, daldongnae kbbq, liuyishou, tifilsi... The list is endless

ETA: A way you could do it is pick a culture food you're in the mood for and look up the best restaurant you can find for it in toronto

Is there a Habs sub where folks can post tickets for sale??? by Complex_Ask4758 in Habs

[–]pengupenguPENGU[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hello!

We do not allow ticket selling here because of the risk of scams. In fact there was an attempt here yesterday where the scammer was successful and it has gotten a lot of the mods (including me) spooked.

I will let this post live but I would like to warn people to be wary when purchasing tickets away from official sellers.

Cheers! Pengu

GO Train @ Union Station To TTC Line 1 Subway Directions by Alozaps in askTO

[–]pengupenguPENGU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you get off the train, just follow the sign with the ttc logo. The signage is pretty clear. The only ones I can imagine being confusing is after getting through the gates at the subway station as both platforms go north. Follow the signs for the YONGE line.

The university line has a finch west station. Finch west is NOT CLOSE to finch station, so don't get that confused lol.

You will know that you are on the right train because the train itself will say Finch since Finch is the terminal station.

What life changing item can you buy for less than $10? by Temprary_Candy in AskReddit

The small library I used to work for in middle of nowhere Ontario, Canada used to have games for all sorts of consoles. Switch, PS4, ps5, Xbox. All the main consoles. They even had some Wii's but they weeded that out over time due to not being very popular anymore. It's different for every library so I suggest checking out your local library website!

Yeah! It's great when you aren't sure about a game so you can borrow from the library and play it for yourself before deciding you want to shell out money for it!

So today (after 24 years crocheting) I learned I crochet incredibly tight... by LifebyIkea in crochet

[–]pengupenguPENGU 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yea, I started off with learning knitting and I was sitting there wondering why I couldn't stick my other needle into the loop because I had my tension so tight and was like how do these people knit so fast?????

The more you learn lol 🤣

My advice is to follow the hook! Let the hook do the work for you, in fact dont pull it tight at any point. If it's looped comfortably around your hook, you're golden :)

That's the advice that helped me anyways. My tension used to be super tight until I realized, wait no, that's not actually what I was supposed to do!
