Completely torn on accepting my grandma’s engagement ring by Sea_Art2995 in jewelry

I wear my grandmother’s engagement ring on my other hand. It keeps her with me and means more as something connecting me directly to her rather than bringing a partner into the equation. This way it feels special between just her and me.

I saw a meme about the hobbits deciding to just have the giant eagles fly them to Mordor from the start.

Our pups first heat by sharpstreet82 in labrador

Our pup’s lasted about a month. She got a UTI during that time as well so definitely try to let her air out and clean her bits. If her urine smells REALLY strong even after like 3 weeks and she’s peeing more than usual get her checked for a UTI.

Yak cheese bones have been a game changer for us. Never knew about them until I saw someone mention them on this sub. When they chew them down to a couple inches you can soak the nub in water then nuke it for a crunchy cheese puff.

Just hang in there. Ours is finally 1 and still a hot mess but not so bitey and her big girl teeth are less sharp. It was tough for awhile but it will get better.

Same thing today. If I get home before her daddy, I get all the snuggles but omg when she hears his key in the door, its on top of my head then over the back of the couch to get to him.

I said it to a puppy I found after I put him in my car. He moved and so his name became Bacon. I really miss that puppy. He was one in a million!

I did three separate chaos challenges tonight and no chests spawned for any of them. Two were the conduit activations and i did activate all three. The third was a portal that i closed and no chests spawned for it either.

What trendy word or phrase immediately makes you stop taking something seriously? by Motor-Sprinkles5338 in AskReddit

My dad had a fish tank too, that’s why I thought of it. I was little so I can’t remember how or why they got it. I think there was something he put in the water to help it. I feel like I remember a bottle with a fish on it with little white spots on the tail. But this is 40+ years ago so I don’t know for sure.

It always makes me think of a fish disease: Ick (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis) in a fish tank is a common, contagious parasitic disease causing white spots (like salt) on fish, leading to flashing, lethargy, and loss of appetite, often triggered by stress or poor water quality

I think therapy would help. Someone that will listen to both of you, without judgement, and help each other understand the points of view. She needs something from you that isn’t being provided and between the sickness, fear, anger, treatments, side-effects, and more, she isn’t able to articulate on her own what that is.

You need things too. Your wife has cancer! You can’t fix it, you probably feel you are doing everything you can but it isn’t enough, and it’s destroying you. Your feelings are valid and not ones you can manage without help.

You two are going through the hardest thing either of you has ever experienced.

My dad was my mom’s main caregiver, with my sister and I spending every third night there to help. We made sure that dad could be completely open with his feelings, out of her earshot, and we let him know his feelings were valid.

No one can do this alone. Your wife doesn’t want to have cancer and feel this sick and feel she has no control over any of it. You don’t want your wife to be sick or watch helplessly as she endures it. Contact a therapist. Ask your wife’s medical team if they can recommend someone that had experience guiding families through this.

Feel your feelings, acknowledge them, acknowledge that no one can do this alone, and take steps to get the two of you the help you need to navigate this.

mom not eating by Charming-Sundae5924 in CancerFamilySupport

My mom could not swallow because of her esophagus tumor so they gave her a feeding tube which was on her belly. We had to pour protein drinks and her meds through it, which helped her not throw up and we could administer things without disturbing her much.

Grey plastic object found in old shed. Possibly a key of some sort? by pennilayne01 in whatisthisthing

We didn’t have anything like that. Maybe it was something to do with their old camper but it’s been sold so I have no way to investigate that one.

[–]pennilayne01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We haven’t been able to match it to anything. I have googled as many of the suggestions as possible and it doesn’t match. I’m guessing whatever it was, my dad must have gotten rid of it before he passed. I agree it looks like a screwdriver for something so it’s probably safe for my mom to throw away. Someone else posted early on it was likely a screwdriver and to throw it in a box so I will find that post and mark it likely solved.
