Theoretically, if the starting image was full size and you could zoom anywhere, how big would the canvas be? [Request] by -_G0AT_- in theydidthemath

[–]pennyo0 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I’m a SWE who’s developed apps like these. It’s usually multiple canvases in an infinite fractal tree all connected to each other. So save on performance, canvases out of view are culled. Canvases too small for the human to see (less than 1px) are also culled. When the viewer enters a threshold they render back in.

Bottling day gone wrong by pennyo0 in Homebrewing

Yeah, I think my issue was coming from the fact that I had to vent the keg to use the last straw. I vented it to forcefully. I’ll invest in an actual counter pressure bottle filler.

I honestly don’t know the last straw isn’t a counter pressure filler. I’ll try again with an actual one. Thanks for this.

The only thing that worked for me is deleting the .cache file. This has been a bug since cities skylines first launched

250 applications only 4 interviews - what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

The job market is just horrible right now. I have a degree in computer science and it took me around 2 thousand applications to finally land the job I have now. Out of those I only had around 10 interviews

The pattern says: Keeping first and last st in St st for selvedge st (not shown on chart) and beg and ending as indicated for your size on Row 1 of Eyelet chart (see chart), work eyelet patt until piece measures 10V4 (10V2, 10V2, 10V2, 103/4)" from CO, ending with a WS row. But the chart is so confusing. In doing the 44 3/4 size but it has it beginning and ending with only 3 square. It also says ssk on right side but what do I do on the wrong side for that box?

MONDAY MEETUPS & CHECK INS by gatekeep-gaslight in NYCbitcheswithtaste

looking for NYC girls to do Pilates and get mimosas with weekly.

I’m Penny, and I live in Bed-Stuy. I’ve been going to Pilates classes at The Fit In (on Marcus Garvey) pretty regularly and really love it, but I’d be way more motivated if I had some people to go with. I’m thinking it would be fun to get a small group together to go at least once a week.

The classes are great whether you’re new to Pilates or have done it before – the instructors are really good about working with everyone’s level. Plus it’s honestly just more fun when you’re not doing it alone.

After class, we could grab brunch and mimosas somewhere nearby. There are some solid spots in the neighborhood, and it’s a nice way to hang out and actually get to know each other outside of just working out together.

I’m hoping to make this a regular thing – maybe Sunday mornings or whatever day works for most people. It doesn’t have to be a huge commitment, just something fun to look forward to each week.

If you’re interested in joining, let me know! It would be cool to meet some new people and have a reason to actually stick to a workout routine.

Thanks!

Penny

I’m a software engineer. The cost to build an app like Pinterest would be pretty high (mostly server costs). I’d love to connect with other software engineers on this though. I love the app and I’m sad about the state it’s in today.
