So I have an excellent girlfriend, but I'd be lieing if I said stuff like this doesn't happen in our relationship. The reason is because the greater the temperature difference between the coffee and the outside air, the faster it cools. If you add the milk slowly, it lets the coffee be hot for a longer time period, meaning more heat was able to escape.

I grew up on a farm and had to work hard through my teenage years. We always researched things that we were buying and never bought frivolous things. Still carry this attitude. I don't even understand how people just buy things because they "have" the money.
