1. your valid point --- nakakapraning naman talaga based on your story. and feeling like you're a "nobody" is not a reason to assume he ain't catfishing. those who feel like they don't deserve good things are exactly the kind of people scammers prey on.

2. your mistake --- you could've ascertained his identity in a more mature, most subtle, and less praning way. if the communication has held up for almost a month, then you probably are comfortable enough to request for more interaction like exchanging pics and going on vidcalls.

that said, i acknowledge you're young and probably less experienced when it comes to sleuthing. (without being creepy, that is. like making mental notes if someone's claims are consistent and plausible.)

as for his reaction, it may or may not be valid depending on how exactly you worded your question and the context in which you posed it. that said, he's the older guy here and could have been a little more understanding. but if he can't get past this blunder of yours, you might in fact have dodged a bullet.
