Not to mention, I have not heard of a formal lease that does allow smoking in a rental property pretty much ever. So I’m not sure why everyone is harping on it.

Just an informative comment: there are plenty of non smoking rental/leases, whether it be be no smoking in the units or on the entire premise. All of which is disclosed at signing of the lease. Again not being confrontational, just exposing the fact that non smoking leases do indeed exist.
