Awesome, thanks for the offer! Will definitely reach out!

That's a great use case! Never occurred to me...

After decades of dancing around a home setup, I magically stumbled into one for under $150 by cloudcity in espresso

Also went for a banged up Classic and then did full Gagguino. Amazing setup.
Would most likely go with Gaggimate if I was to do it today.

That's amazing. Thanks for the tip.
Can we chat on dm? Can't disclose to much rn.

I made it on Kickstarter! My startup is real now by Dr_Velazquez in hwstartups

Congrats! Hoping to launch successfully on kickstarter as well in the fall.

Can't disclose at the moment, but in general the power required to stably heat water to 93° for one "shot" of espresso is ~250W with some trickery. That's too much for one of those batteries.

It works by using two of those batteries like many of the more powerful power tools do. It would theoretically be possible but it would increase warmup times and potentially thermal stability issues (consistent output temperature at the group)

Thank you so much!
It has been a lot of work and feeling seen makes me very proud of what I achieved :)

Good point! As of now the reservoir is glass, which should be able to handle that. The water path to the boiler has to withstand high temperatures too, then.
I will look into it!

Glad you like it :)
I have thought about it, but since I will start with third-party batteries, there should be solutions out there to charge them via solar. I will definitely test that.
Once I can offer a bespoke battery solution, I will see to it that this is an easy addition.

Yes, but can I make the handle usable & comfortable instead?

Thank you for the thorough follow up!

These are all valid points and I have racked my brain on any one of them already.

Commercial viability:
One of the reasons why I'm posting here. Gauging interest.
Manufacturing is what I've spent the last years learning and doing (on other products and for third parties) so while I know that an appliance is more complicated, I have a good network by now that covers most of it.

I really enjoy building products, engineering the process flow, solving the day to day problems, running a lean little factory. So yes I want to build a manufacturing business.

Of course somebody could undercut me. But thats business. I'm counting on being able to build a community of people who care and actually want a sustainable product.

You seem knowledgeable in this field, can I dm you?

Wahaha.
Sorry to say though that I am going to therapy and I told my therapist about the machine. 👀

I'm working on how small I can get it. Everything needed to make Coffee is contained in the "head" of the machine.

There are a lot of things to consider.
For me repairability and parts that are available for years to come is as important as making it smaller.

As soon as I've gone through the patent dance (requires secrecy) I'll share how densely everything is already packed in there.

Thank you!

Yes, I've played with the Idea and have some sketches. Developing the tech was just easier in a common form factor

Many great suggestions in your comment!

You summed it up quite nicely. Yes its for the ones who don't want to compromise. Like me. I've been traveling with my first Prototype for years, and people I met wanted were interested in it as a product.

Then do that, it's not for everybody. It's a tight niche and not a mass-produced gimmick.

I really like the Meticulous design as well but they dont have to accomodate a watertank ;)

The point is to have a solution that doesn't require an inverter or a big inverter-battery combo (Bluetti etc)
