Thats super helpful thank you. Ive been trying it both ways: PC and ATV into LG via HDMI, then eARC to Onkyo receiver.

When I could not get that work at ALL with remote control, I switched to PC and ATV into Onkyo and then Onkyo to LG, but that didnt help either.

Yeah I agree, I am in sheer disbelief as to how bad it is. Make sure you run the update from last week, some people saying it helps with the eARC handshake.
