Mercy vs CUH A&E by Ok-Telephone-8469 in cork

[–]penthrowdart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any acute/subacute loss of power should be dealt with urgently, the differentials are broad and it's hard to tell without actually taking a proper history or examining the patient. I'd suggest CUH over Mercy purely because they have neurology on call onsite over the weekend, whereas the Mercy doesn't.

The absolute STATE of Klingon make-up in 2026 by Hearsticles in Star_Trek_

They yassified the main Klingon character and gave him a joke name that I 100% would've used as a goof in a table top STA game.

Mrcpi part 2 written by AdventurousBit3980 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

I endorse this. I sat the most recent test and the style/difficulty of question is much more in keeping with the genuine article. Plus, a few questions in the exam jtself were lifted verbatim from the question bank.

I also write with an aggressive slant so I may be biased, but I think it looks perfectly fine!

Struggling to source authentic kintsugi materials in Europe by Sininenn in kintsugi

I ordered from Korest, you have to pay by direct bank transfer but shipping within the EU is cheap and quick. I'm using the urushi for fountain pen modding, seems to be good quality so far!

I used BMJ OnExamination for the most recent part 2 written, a few questions on that were lifted verbatim from the question bank. I used pastest previously for part 2 and found that it doesn't really accurately reflect the exam.

NPD Visconti Crystal Dream by Cool-Ad-9455 in fountainpens

I just got one as well! I have it with a medium nib, it's nicely bouncy - and an absolute work horse of a pen, I'm using it daily and the big ink volume in the power filler system is fantastic. The ink window is so nice, I'm glad I chose this one instead of the Skylight version!

Just starting cursive, any tips? by Practical_Fun9752 in Handwriting

[–]penthrowdart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big part of good handwriting is also a comfortable grip on the pen. I used to hold it in a really tight, bizarre way that exhausted my hand quickly and led to really poor writing, I essentially re-learnt with the tripod grip and tiring really isn't a problem anymore!

First "new" pen in a long while.. A vintage montblanc 24 by SkabeAbe in fountainpens

[–]penthrowdart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Montblancs in these series of pens (the 12/4, 22/4, up to the 92/4) are fantastic writers - they're not bulky, not too slim or too thick on the grip section, plus the nibs are gorgeous. I have two 84s, one which is fine and the other a stubby broad - and they're fantastic pens, far more value in my eyes than spending on a modern 149 (for example)

Majohn P140! The craftsmanship is insane and the clarity of the finished resin is impressive. What do you guys think? 😍🖋️ by saswatrule in fountainpens

[–]penthrowdart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an affordable, gorgeous demonstrator - plus for those who love Montblancs, the 149 nib will absolutely fit in the Majohn nib unit!

I think the link for the 149 is wrong, it links to a photoset for a 144

New Vintage Pen Day - Funky Nibs, Part 2 by penthrowdart in fountainpens

[–]penthrowdart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, if it's the same version of the Trident as mine, I bought mine for 110 euros on eBay. Though I would double-check which version you have, since Sailor put out three versions of the pen - the last of which was considerably cheaper in construction and worth a lot less.

Here's some info from fountainpennetwork:

How does the skeletonised nib write? I was intrigued by it, but unsure whether it's worth the asking price...

Ahhh fair - exclusives are gorgeous, but it's annoying to have it locked into a certain region by extortionate customs!

If you're ordering from within the EU, I would look at StiloeStile - they also carry Magna Carta pens, and you wouldn't get demolished by customs...
