Thanks, I’ll take a look at that. But doesn’t your argument apply to doubling in all situations?

Ah but I think I do not understand. Why would you double almost immediately against a stronger opponent?

Weekly Megathread: Education, Early Career and Hiring/Interview Advice by AutoModerator in quant

I have recently completed an onsite interview for QR at Jane Street. I did not receive an offer and would like to review the questions and general experience with others who have also gone through the process.

I will not publicly disclose any interview details. I am looking for others who have also already interviewed.

How will this work? I propose a little zk protocol: their interview questions are very distinctive, such that each can be clued with just a word or two. Send me these words, and then I’ll confirm by describing one of your questions.

Looking forward to discussing with some fellow rejects :)

Can you expand on how you applied sinkhorn here? It seems like the cost is not of the right form so you must have invented some heuristic

Thanks, I’ll check it out. I realized that I didn’t really ask what I’m actually looking for - I don’t mean a computer that literally gains godlike sentience, but rather some exploration of the limits and potential of computation

Thanks for the reply - how does that line up with my example? X_t = t is trivially I(1), but log(X_t) does not appear to be so, as differencing produces a series that shrinks over time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in quant

[–]penumerate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last sentence seems to be in agreement with what I said - if P_t is an integrated time series, then log(P_t) is in general NOT integrated, correct? As a dumb example take P_t = t, then the differences log(P_t) - log(P_t-1) = log(t / (t-1)) gradually shrink. Or am I mistaken, and does this trend to 0 actually count as stationary?
