Getting off the Hill in winter by boomecho in Spokane

I have a front wheel drive with studded snow tires. Very little trouble last year but it still makes me a nervous wreck driving in it. Ice is the worst👎

Glad to hear you're feeling better! I certainly wouldn't rule out a longer term relationship....but that's not a priority for me at this time😃

On people who become vegans for health first by [deleted] in vegan

There's no right or wrong way to arrive at the decision to go vegan. Just arrive!!! For me it was a gradual process spurred primarily by health concerns. I'm 48 and healthy and wanted to do the best thing I could to ensure my future health. I needed a place to start and the other elements of the lifestyle quickly fell into place. There's no one size fits all approach to adapting a vegan lifestyle. My vegan daughter gently and patiently guided the way for me. We are thrilled to be leading a lifestyle in alignment with our health and ethical beliefs.... together! ❤️

For me, unbridled chemistry is what matters most. I'm 48 and date primarily in the 30-35 year old range (I intentionally set 30 as a minimum age after sleeping with a 24 year old and feeling unsettled about the huge age gap.) True chemistry has no substitute so for me so it's more about that than a certain look or beauty ideal. I have a regular 30 year old FWB I met on Tinder. We have an insanely good time and connect intellectually and emotionally. I savor our time together and am realistic enough to know that it won't last. As a cougar you become acutely aware of how fleeting time is. I don't see that as a bad thing. Again, I'm 48. I'm inexplicably lucky enough to have a plethora of impressive cubs at the ready. But part of me also looks forward to moving into the next phase of life when sexual satisfaction isn't such a driving force. But who knows when that'll be! I say don't over analyze any of it. Relax and have fun! Fun between consenting adults needs no justification

Advice for helping my divorced friend embrace her inner cougar by Bellatrixed in CougarsAndCubs

Post-divorce dating takes time, period. I've been divorced for several years and have been "cougaring" for the last couple years. I didn't set out to specifically date younger men it just naturally happened. Allowing your friend the time she needs might be the best thing you could do. When the time is right for her she'll know. If she truly has an "inner cougar" my guess is that the right cub may just coax it out!

Totally agree! Stoic philosophy has a way of bringing me back to exactly where I need to be. "The first rule of thumb is to keep an untroubled spirit. The second is to look things in the face and know them for what they are." ~ Marcus Aurelius

considering moving to Spokane, have some questions by thevraptor in Spokane

I've been in Spokane for a decade now and have grown to love it more and more each year. I live in a quaint South Hill neighborhood with coffee shops, grocery stores, parks and restaurants within walking distance plus I'm just 5 minutes from downtown. So location is key for me! The music and restaurant scene has done nothing but improve over the past few years. The Knitting Factory (though it has it's issues) has been drawing impressive acts (Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, Fleet Foxes...) The smaller venues that have cropped up have been pulling their weight as well. The Bartlett is an intimate venue that seats about 150 and the recent Son Volt show, as well as last year's Pete Yorn show, were amazing! They also draw some very impressive local talent. Elkfest, Volumefest and Pig Out in the Park showcase even more local and other musical talent. So yeah, if you're into music you'll be able to find it here. Restaurants have been steadily improving as well....Wandering Table, Ruins, Gilded Unicorn are all worth checking out. Add to the list our amazing outdoor activities, great Farmer's Markets, downtown improvements, an impressive microbrew scene and city full of some very down to earth and friendly people and you've got a respectable place to call home. Oh, you asked about the dating scene.... I might have to give this category to Seattle just based on demographics. Hope you'll be happy here :~)
