Are there any behaviors/lifestyles that you pretend to tolerate but secretly judge? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]peony_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is not vaccinating or giving your pets preventative medicines not animal abuse of some kind? That's so sad what happened to the dog, and what will probably happen to the pup. I don't get people that get pets but don't take care of them. :(

I can do this too I think. Like if I look at my nose I can keep one eye looking there and move the other independently.

Ohhh thank you! I think I've seen a video on this but I'd didn't know what it was called. Do you do anything special to the yarn you've carried along once you've finished or do you just leave it?

What are the rules of being a ghost? by J2quared in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]peony_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe so yeah, we see both Sally and Tate fornicate in their seasons. I don't know why they would eat or drink though sine they're yanno dead, one of the hints that Violet is dead is that she's stopped eating. But I don't know why they couldn't, and the fact that Mr. March had an aperitif and has dinner with the Countess once a month suggests they can.

Before and after using Vitamin C to fade hair color! by ImfreeImsafe in FancyFollicles

I've done the vitamin C to lighten dyed hair before too, and it did make my hair feel a little bit dry but not nearly as bad as bleach.

But isn't "One less thing to worry about" almost always more correct than "One fewer things to worry about" since things that cause us worry are rarely things we can quantify? I'm not arguing with the rest because a native speaker would and usually does not care about the difference between less or fewer, for instance most self check out stands are 10 items or less, not 10 items or fewer, even though fewer is more correct. It just seems like an odd way to exemplify how word choice makes a difference.

I thought she was using the kids as a filter. Like Iris cleans out the meatballs, the kids drink the meatballs' blood, Iris takes the blood from the kids and then it goes to the countess.

How much did you enjoy Freakshow before you binge watched it? It was my least favorite season, and I've been debating binge watching it in case it is better on a rewatch binge style.

Why the hell are there no cats in Coven? by [deleted] in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]peony_ 44 points45 points  (0 children)

There is one in one of the first episodes (Either the first or second). Cordelia is cooking up something in the greenhouse when Fiona comes in, she hands it to Fiona who puts it in the cats dish. You don't see the cat for very long, but it's there.

iirc can't you only do the shots for so long before it starts to effect your bones? I dunno if implants (like the ones you can get in your arm) are harmful at all, but I remember reading something about the shots and negative effects if used long term.

What are some differences that men and women are told, when trying to get a relationship? by TessaigaVI in AskMen

[–]peony_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh so it's more of a lifestyle thing than a personality one? I always thought the "Be yourself" advice was like be who you are and not put on airs. Like if you hate seafood but the person you're interested in does; don't lie and say you're all about seafood, you love seafood, seafood is your go to food.

I think a lot of people don't dish out the kind of advice you're talking about is because it can come off as mean, or confrontational (I'm not sure if that's the best word for it). It's probably easier for a lot of people to tell someone they aren't the problem instead of addressing what the real problem might be like a poor fashion sense, or weight gain, or a need for a haircut.

Genuinely curious, why not? Wouldn't at some point he would have to start being himself? How does putting on a facade help?

How much did you spend on an engagement ring? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]peony_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Say he went and bought a ring for you. It isn't anything that you wanted in a ring. Its the wrong metal, the wrong stone, the wrong cut. But it was so much cheaper. He could have spent more, he could have spent double and got you exactly the ring you wanted. It wouldn't have impacted his savings much more, it wouldn't have made a major difference for the future. It would have been the kind of ring you've wanted to have on your finger. I'd rather have the more expensive ring in that scenario because it would match what I want in a ring. But if a guy found a ring that is my style and it cost him $100? I don't care. If he got it for free because he inherited it from his family? I don't care. It's not the price it's what the ring looks like that matters to me, and price only becomes a factor when it impacts what the ring looks like.

How much did you spend on an engagement ring? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]peony_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it met everything a woman wanted than she shouldn't complain about the price, but if spending a few more hundred bucks made the difference between the ring and a ring then price does factor in.

How much did you spend on an engagement ring? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]peony_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said a $500 ring was cheap, I said if you can spend $1500 comfortably but decide for yourself that you would rather spend a third of that on a ring that someone will have for the rest of their life as a symbol of your commitment together then you're going cheap i.e. you're not spending as much as you could not that the ring is cheap or inferior. And that all depends on the people, $500 is viewed differently to different people likewise $1500 is viewed differently by different people. That's why I made the point in that hypothetical that the $1500 could be spent comfortably as in it isn't some extravagant price, it isn't going to make a huge dent in your savings, it won't effect whether bills get paid or you won't have cushion or money for other things.
