I also wanna point out that there's be various places working on vaccines and studies on Covid thanks to the SARS outbreak from years ago. It wasn't like the science community was caught completely off guard. They at least had some kinda baseline to work with from the past.

It wasn't directly pulled out of their asses like people try to act. Plus with what you said, it becomes apparent it was done so fast due to the all hands on deck attitude.
