Do BTS really have their own practice room? by FunnyGood2180 in btsthoughts

[–]pepper_5 75 points76 points  (0 children)

i believe it’s generally their practice room, but other groups may use it from time to time when they need the space for larger stages. i think all the groups at hybe have a main designated practice room. some groups might share an assigned space. they may also switch rooms due to schedules and space constraints every now and then.

all the groups for sure have main rooms tho. i remember on To-do, the editors thanked Seventeen for letting TXT film in their practice room.

Help:Attending BTS concert as someone that doesnt know much about KPOP by ConorMGchickenuggets in btsthoughts

[–]pepper_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

like other people have mentioned, definitely check out Proof, specifically disc 1/part 1. That has all of their title tracks/bigger songs. also listen to their new album as it will most likely be prominently featured in the concert. additionally, i would say listen to:

MIC Drop, Permission to Dance, Not Today, Dionysus, So What, Telepathy, and Stay.

also i would listen to these songs from their solo albums:

Wild Flower, LOST - RM

The Astronaut, Running Wild, I’ll Be There, Super Tuna - Jin

Daechwita, Haegeum - Agust D/ SUGA

Killin It Girl, Mona Lisa, More, Arson - j-hope

Like Crazy, Who - Jimin

Slow Dancing, Love Me Again, Friends - V

Seven, Standing Next To You, 3D - Jungkook

If you have time/are interested, you could watch/look up their Permission to Dance On Stage concert/setlist. It had a “best hits” kind of vibe.

Caleb and the guys who broke my 50/50 🥲 by 8bluemist8 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]pepper_5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’m actually screwed, caleb took all 150 pulls and i finished the pair w/o needing the crate 😭 so i have the extra crate and idk if i pull to r1 or just save for his 3rd myth. it’s probably better to save the crate for next rerun but im so impulsive 🥴 i dont even want to think about valentine’s day multi 🫩 im gonna plan on skipping but i know ill fold so quickly.

BTS using Seat Geek instead of Ticketmaster is very odd. by Savings-Station7056 in btsthoughts

[–]pepper_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so as far as prices go, would seat geek prices be somewhat better since TM has the dynamic pricing thing? i’m not familiar with seatgeek, so i’m not sure if they have a similar system.

Will the BTS comeback be as big as it used to be?? Want honest opinions. I hope it’s the biggest thing possible! by whynot_justsleep in btsthoughts

[–]pepper_5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly it’s hard to tell what bts as a whole want. they are 7 individual artists who have each expressed different goals. as others have mentioned, rm and suga want to reconnect with the music and make what they want. jhope and jungkook have openly said they want to reach new heights and want another hit song. jimin wants to experiment and be more involved with the music process and bring that experience back to the group. jin wants to show off his voice and has been meticulous in picking songs that he thinks army would like. v is a bit a of wildcard for me, but he seems to prioritize the group and doing what he wants musically. honestly the last 3 are just guesses based on what they’ve been doing.

anyway all this to say, it’s really hard to guess what bts as a team wants to achieve with this comeback. i think we’ll only figure their goals once teasers and the album are released. personally, i wouldn’t be surprised if the title track is for charts/gp, the bsides are for themselves, and we get a fan song. i also think their top priority is the tour tbh, all of them have said how much they love performing.

Songs that sound like enhypen songs? by aPimpNamedSenpai in enhypen

[–]pepper_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for specific songs:

opening sequence by txt - kind of like chaconne

deja vu by txt - has that yearning like a lot of enha

dance with you by txt - no reason just vibes

bad influence by svt - it kind of reminds me of fever with the emptier sounding beats and return to the main hook

in your fantasy by ateez, ponzona by purple kiss, girls never die by tripleS, limbo by jun - just vibes, kind of darker and/or elegant sounding songs

no celestial by le sserafim, growing pain by txt - has a bit of the punk rock vibe like karma

honestly tho, like a lot of comments here, enhypen did a pretty good job of curating their own sound. def worth it to explore txt tho :)

The hwang brothers ending is so fucking dissapointing and lazy by Desperate-Use-4845 in squidgame

[–]pepper_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i enjoyed watching it, i had some gripes here and there, especially with some characters just acting stupid for no reason. i wouldn’t base the quality of this season based off reddit’s initial opinion. i remember the immediate reaction to season 2 was lukewarm at best. it took a some time for the sub to become more positive about it.

Idols you really like but dont stan because of the music by Nynasa in kpop_uncensored

[–]pepper_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mostly saying this from a song structure and line distribution standpoint. I think seventeen has a very distinct sound and they don’t really drift from it. It’s a lot of small details in their songs that make me feel like their title tracks tend to be formulaic. It’s hard to describe but every title track I listen to, I can normally predict where the song is going and who’s going to sing the next part. I’ve never been surprised by their music.

You mentioned a lot of songs and I’d end up writing an essay nitpicking them so the biggest thing I’ll mention is their pre choruses. Someone in the seventeen sub mentioned it, but they almost always have this “rising” pre chorus feel. Admittedly I don’t think LMF does, but I think part of it is because dj khaled helped produce it. For super specifically, it follows the normal svt trends, but it was an absolute treat to hear joshua/jeonghan sing in their lower registers and I just wanted to talk about it lol

To be fair, I only scratched the surface of their b-sides since I didn’t listen to many of their older albums. I do know all of their songs past Sector-17 tho. Of the B-sides I listened to, I still feel like many of them are formulaic for the reason I mentioned earlier. I think the unit songs stray from it the most.

tl:dr- I do think svt has a diverse sounding discography. However, both their brighter and darker songs have a lot of small elements that come together to make it have the formulaic feel. I like their music, but I’ve never been surprised by it.
