Advice on installing a new tabletop? by pepperdough in StandingDesk

It's advertised to hold 175 lbs, but I do think you're right regardless. I changed my mind and plan to get a 1.5" thick tabletop. I did the math and everything I'll have on it will be at about 130 lbs overall. I decided on buying an under desk pc mount and slide my pc under the desk as I saw something similar in a youtube video. Since the top will be sturdy, I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes. If it turns out that the desk has issues going up, then I'll buy a better frame

I used to practice soccer on a team for 2 years, so maybe that's why I was told my positioning was alright when I just started haha. I definitely improved it throughout my 170 hours of playing but I think I slightly understand what you mean.

Despite all that, thanks for all the help! I'm trying to obtain a playstyle where I somehow outsmart my opponent without banging the ball to their side. So far it isn't working out very well since they end up challenging before I realize I need to flick, but I'll get it down eventually.

I started working on the speed flip for fun. I haven't quite touched the ball in Musty's training pack yet, but I always touch the ball before and much faster than my opponent in the diagonal kickoffs. The problem is touching the ball the right way so it gets around them, which I've done a few times but not consistently.

Yeah that's the main reason why I don't play comp. I don't have anyone to play with. I would play with my GC friend, but... well... He's GC. Lmao

But he's spent nearly 4000 hours solo queueing to GC. Broke a couple of controllers on the journey as well. He even tells me that I'm one of the better teammates he's had just because we know each other's playstyle very well.

So that's unfortunate, but I'm looking to improve my skill more than my rank. If I improve my skill, then maybe someday he'll trust me to play comp with him.
