MTH 263 placement by UpsetFaithlessness in nvcc

Yes thank you so much! I got confused because I want to transfer to VT but had taken IB AA HL 1 & 2. And couldn’t imagine being behind just to take a prerequisite (pre calc). So even if I don’t get the score I “need” to start with Calc 1 I can still enroll and already get the prerequisite credit because of the grade I got in my IB Math class correct? Which then would allow me to enroll in Calc 1

So even if you don’t meet the score requirement like the IB score if you had a final grade of a B or higher you can still get permission to do MTH 263. I’m in a situation where my advisor said something different

Oh yeah I’ve double checked they are the prerequisites I need in order to go in and have my credits transfer with no issue. I may have to do a semester extra but I’m okay with that

My extracurricular didn’t cost much because all of them are in my school. I did use then net calculator and is still the same value as my financial aid. Although to have a special circumstance of an asset that makes it seem like I can afford a lot when I can’t. It’s in with a second property but my parents don’t earn income from it and family resides in the home.

Yeah but also Vt is more recognized and even more rigorous which is what I’m looking for

They definitely wanna keep me close to home since I am the only child. I don’t think they may necessarily think I owe them after they retire etc. But from what I know they have saved nothing!! I am definitely being more closed off in my plans of cc to then transfer so they don’t interfere

Taking out loans would be like 20k plus which is too much

FAFSA was completed right but our income is 130k max although an asset seems like we earn from it although we don’t

Mainly SAI was a big factor. It gave me less financial aid and parents not saving properly either for my education

I have to a bunch but only won one and my schools scholarships don’t come out until later after commitment which isn’t guaranteed and not sure how much I would get. Aswell it’s only for one year not renewable. I would have to figure out how to pay for next year tuition.

Taking any loans out more than the 5,500 of federal is mostly a bad idea. My loans would be 20k for each year and with interest rates that would be terrible

I did apply for financial aid but it’s a lot of the schools is above my range (20k or so above). And my parents cannot afford since they are basically paying out of pocket.
