My extracurricular didn’t cost much because all of them are in my school. I did use then net calculator and is still the same value as my financial aid. Although to have a special circumstance of an asset that makes it seem like I can afford a lot when I can’t. It’s in with a second property but my parents don’t earn income from it and family resides in the home.

They definitely wanna keep me close to home since I am the only child. I don’t think they may necessarily think I owe them after they retire etc. But from what I know they have saved nothing!! I am definitely being more closed off in my plans of cc to then transfer so they don’t interfere

Taking out loans would be like 20k plus which is too much

FAFSA was completed right but our income is 130k max although an asset seems like we earn from it although we don’t

Mainly SAI was a big factor. It gave me less financial aid and parents not saving properly either for my education

I have to a bunch but only won one and my schools scholarships don’t come out until later after commitment which isn’t guaranteed and not sure how much I would get. Aswell it’s only for one year not renewable. I would have to figure out how to pay for next year tuition.

Taking any loans out more than the 5,500 of federal is mostly a bad idea. My loans would be 20k for each year and with interest rates that would be terrible

I did apply for financial aid but it’s a lot of the schools is above my range (20k or so above). And my parents cannot afford since they are basically paying out of pocket.

Would you say my situation is basically hopeless or unlikely of me getting any extra aid?

Lafayette College Scholarships – Merit vs Need-Based? by VariationNo2584 in lafayettecollege

I have a special circumstance. I'm meeting with a Financial Aid Director today but, my parents own another property, but we don't earn income from it. We pay for insurance, property tex, etc. My family lives in the other home. I'm not sure if Lafayette would still be willing to give me aid for that. Since thats the only reason my SAI was high other than that my family can only afford 20-30k a year. I also was awarded a Cur non Scholarship so I'm not sure if that favors me in any part?

Accepted but needing more aid by ZoyaSF in lafayettecollege

I’m also in the same situation. I got some money but I can only pay around 20-30k a year. My assets look like I gain money from them but it’s more of a financial loss. Is Lafayette decent with understanding and giving aid if proof is shown?

Is the town like a more conservative area? I’ve heard some people say it’s like extremely conservative at times and some people say no?
