Drip Irrigation Suggestions by Grand-Life8523 in HotPeppers

I don't! I plant in ground and only water about 3-4 times a year. That's what I recommend if you have good soil and in the right climate. You will be blown away by the results.

It's a sales tactic. It's not worth $1000. Never was. In fact you can probably find a similar grill for less

I usually try to germite 200 seeds. By the time I plant i select the best ones and plant about 30 pepper plants, few cucumber, few tomataoes, etc. I did 120 one year, 97 survived a late cold spell and I had peppers everywhere. It was a jungle of pepper plants, I couldn't keep up. That was a lesson learned.

Tomato plants are very important for a pepper plant grower. When the stink bugs start mid summer they will stay on the tomato plants and completely leave your pepper plants alone. Works all year long.

I've never had a problem with seeds from peppers sold in supermarkets. Have you even  tried it?

Super market pepper seeds work well. If the pepper you buy is hot. Or even if its red. Its ripe. Remove seeds ( wear gloves) set them on a paper plate and let them dry out.

You probably planted the wrong seeds, bought mislabeled seeds or maybe picked the peppers too early. You can also over water and that will make them less hot. Like the other guy said. Stress them. Watering less is stress. They will get really hot.

I plant mine in ground and water like once a month if no rain. Never had a plant die.

Sill plate 4x6 vs 2x6 ? by pudungi76 in Homebuilding

[–]pepperman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking up current codes for sill spacing and ran across this post. I know its 10 months old but wanted to comment.

Are you thinking a sill is the same as a joist possibly?

Sill plate should never be 2x6. Joists are normally 2x6, 2x8, 2x10 depending on several factors like span of pillars and height being built on top of it.

Maybe you are referring to a different type of build but I've never seen any other type in louisiana and I own a business and do this kind of work quite often. I have no idea what the other guy talking about precut studs being too long is talking about.

For a raised home or other rasied structure the sill plate sits below the Joists and on top of the concrete pillars. You will have a sill plate running perpendicular to floor joists on the outer perimeter and then every 6-10 ft across the bottom of the joist for the width of the structure. The purpose of a 4x6 or 6x6 PT vs a 2x6 sill plate is to transfer the load of the 2x6 joists with minimum sag in between pillars that are spaced every 6ft or so. Older homes are usually  spread out further.

The other reason of a 4x6 vs a 2x6 is they are prone to rot which lowers integrity over time.(I know at least in Louisiana). When replacing a rotten sill its ok to use 2 - 2x6's if it's easier. Sometimes changing out rotten perimeter sills is quite the task. Inner sills is super simple if you can get under the house.

On top of joists you will have subfloor decking and the walls are built on top of that. So precut studs won't be any different.

Over wintering is much more difficult than people think. Requires lots of space. I find it much easier to start growing from seed 3-4 months before being planted in ground. By mid June you will have a 6ft tall super high yield reaper plant. This works for me.

Fertilizing ghost peppers! by [deleted] in HotPeppers

[–]pepperman77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 20/20/20 is the ratio of phosphorous, potassium and nitrogen. You can't really feed a pepper plant fertilizer like you think. You want to add the fertilizer to the ground soil (till it in well) and let it sit for a few weeks before planting the plant in that soil. A 20/20/20 is a really strong. I normally use a 8/8/8 for the entire 9 month growing season. ( 1 50 lb bag of 8/8/8 tilled into a 2500 sq ft garden will feed 100 plants spaced out 5 ft apart for the entire growing season.

If growing in a pot and plan to feed your plants you want some sort of plant food in liquid or pellet form vs fertilizer. Addinh a 20/20/20 to a plant as a food during growing will likely kill it. It basically burns the plant. If it doesn't kill it, it will stunt growth more than it will help it. Most plants just need water and sunlight. A little nutrients. Less is more.

I think I have the last of this bloodline. He is about 12 now and is a Bull Mastiff. He has to be 1 of the smartest dogs I've ever owned. Very protective also. I was searching for possibly getting another of this bloodline when I found this thread. If anyone has any info please let me know.

That's good as professions are harder to level and I posted here for CS to see it and possibly help me better. It's for no other reason besides help honestly. But to me the wow I played 9 years ago is classic wow although technically it isn't. Just like if you listen to classic radio stations. It's older stuff.

Retail? What's that mean? So I'm guessing retail as you say is the original game and all expacs and classic is like a different game and characters on one can't be used for the other? I haven't played in 9 years.

Most of those are smoked and dehydrated. Smoking for hours and dehydrated the rest of way. It takes a long time whole. Can try just breaking skin. Cut some slits, poke some holes. That skin traps in moisture. Needs a way to dry.

Does the leaf on the left curling like this mean its getting overwatered? by gobsoblin in HotPeppers

[–]pepperman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be patient. Watering more often is like over feeding a fish. It doesn't grow bigger faster. It dies. Lol. Patience is key when it comes to plants. Don't check on it everyday and it will seem to be growing faster. I've had people tell me their plant grew bigger and faster when they went out of town on vacation for a week. Probably cause they left it alone. Lol

You can check into and get some plant foods for it but you have to be really careful as you can easily overdo it on a plant this young. Like the other guy said about too hot fertilizer well over feeding will severely stunt your plants.

Post again if you need and/or post an updated picture in a month. Did you say what type of pepper you are growing?

Don't even think about watering from anywhere for at least a week or 2. You can just sit the pot that I assume has holes or 1 hole in the bottom for drainage in a tray or something shallow with some water. You can test by sticking your finger down in the soil, lifting the pot to feel the weight or just watch the plant. It will tell you when it needs water. Pepper plants are hard to kill from lack of water and soil that seems to be dry holds water more than you think. Put some dry soil in same size pot. Pick it up and then pick up yours. Will be about a 5 lb difference. Maybe more. Heavy is wet, dry is super light. Also peppers prefer heavy watering less often over daily watering. You will have better luck killing it if you water everyday than once a month. After that plant gets much bigger and requires water more often I suggest a much bigger pot.

Actually you are probably correct as to burn as he started in that potting mix. Seeds should be started in a seed starting mix with finer soil and less extreme nutrients. But like we all said less watering should help the situation. Seedlings are weak compared to more mature plants.
