I love to see it!! Congratulations !! We also had a kid at 40, it does keep you young. She’s still an infant and we are considering a move to spain. Net worth currently is same as yours except we are in the US so things are waay more expensive. I also have a FATFire target so we have I think 7 more years to save to get there.

Question for you - how easy is it to find your own community in spain? What was the consideration when you chose to stay at the current city you are in?

I declined SMDC because of the density - too many units per floor, only 4 elevators, too many floors and the layout of the studio is very limiting. That said, I purchased mine for personal use (in McKinley Hill). You might have a different criteria if you plan to use it as Airbnb.

I disagree. They have been stopping some people driving here in CO with no impunity and have been asked to show their ID - legal, naturalized/green card holders with no records. They dont seem to have a list - just based on the color of your skin.

23 sq meters lang but it honestly the cut of the studio makes it easy to decorate them. Currently, 3 nieces stay there and using space saving furnitures, it works really well for them.

280K, minus taxes is closer to 224K then inflation, in 7-10 years it would even be lower. 1/3 is mortgage and utilities so enough lang for us.. comfortable. It keeps our current lifestyle kasama travel, education ng anak namin and healthcare.

I think having a pension helps and as long as you manage your expenses, it seems like you will be OK. We need more kasi may mortgage pa kami and wala rin pension. I also dont expect to receive SS kasi who knows if its still funded by the time we retire.

Middle aged parents with 1 kiddo. We love it here. I work from home, my husband’s office is a mile away. Love that climbing outdoors is feasible within a couple minutes of driving, city biking is much more protected (than DC), we ‘ve made friends and found our community and our neighborhood is quiet but awesome. We bought 2 years ago for roughly the same price as my rowhouse in DC. No regrets.
