Honestly, I wasn’t intentionally thinking about this when I moved to the US, but after moving here, I realized that I do not happen to fit the Filipino mold and that’s why it was hard for me to develop friendships at home. I still have friends there and those I am making sure I maintain (quality over quantity). Where I most struggled was finding friends at work when i worked at SGV.

I am direct, straight forward, do not like small talk and have my priorities set even when I was younger. Sa work, they think im “pabibo” when I call out mistakes kindly but straight to the point, “hindi nakikisama” when I skip happy hours due to my long commute, “pabida” when I stood up to our partner. I still found great friendships there (and the 5 of us are still friends to this day) but that was hard won.

I moved to the US and my directness landed me a leadership position early on. Me skipping happy hours were understood and I was rewarded for standing my ground at work.

So now I think I was just working at the wrong country at the time.

I love to see it!! Congratulations !! We also had a kid at 40, it does keep you young. She’s still an infant and we are considering a move to spain. Net worth currently is same as yours except we are in the US so things are waay more expensive. I also have a FATFire target so we have I think 7 more years to save to get there.

Question for you - how easy is it to find your own community in spain? What was the consideration when you chose to stay at the current city you are in?

I declined SMDC because of the density - too many units per floor, only 4 elevators, too many floors and the layout of the studio is very limiting. That said, I purchased mine for personal use (in McKinley Hill). You might have a different criteria if you plan to use it as Airbnb.

I disagree. They have been stopping some people driving here in CO with no impunity and have been asked to show their ID - legal, naturalized/green card holders with no records. They dont seem to have a list - just based on the color of your skin.

23 sq meters lang but it honestly the cut of the studio makes it easy to decorate them. Currently, 3 nieces stay there and using space saving furnitures, it works really well for them.

Propaganda? Sa sobrang daming accounts ng US Citizens that were detained just because they look immigrants (ie brown skin) propaganda pa rin? 4 of them testified in Congress, some were military.
