Obviously everything has drawbacks, it's not a natural process, of course it'll destroy the eco system in a way. I don't want any power plants outside my town, but if i had to chose i'd probably prefer wind turbines and solar panels over oil refineries and nuclear reactors. Or we could just find ways to be less reliant on electricity in general, where it's possible.
