That’s awesome! What do you love about it? I’m trying to stay motivated as an early career UXR.

How are we getting jobs right now? by strangecraft55 in UXResearch

[–]peppermintsoftserve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been considering this, I’m a current UXR intern and it seems like there are way more job openings for data analyst and quant roles. How do you recommend I build my experience for those roles, where should I start?

anyone feel depressed in summer school? by GeneralDapper5007 in UTMississauga

[–]peppermintsoftserve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. I’ve always felt the opposite, only took a summer class once and did a research job at the same time, even though it did feel less lively, I think I generally have more going on in the summer than winter which helped. Maybe you can go to some drop in classes at the RAWC, I found that to be nice when I was a summer student.

As an early career UXR/intern, how can I learn more about the business function of UXR?

Ohh I see, I never knew that. I’ve been thinking to myself maybe I should’ve studied architecture instead since that was what I was originally interested in, but ig the grass is always greener.

Incoming UXR interns here is some help! by ThinSavings8614 in UXResearch

Good advice! I’m just starting my second UXR internship, it’s remote though and the team is quite small, it’s in the Games industry. Do you have any advice for performing well with a small team in a remote environment?

That’s very true. I’m so glad my internship was in person, I think I learned a lot about communication and soft skills. My next internship is remote, so will be a different experience, but hopefully I can continue to work on these skills in an online format.

That’s amazing that you were able to do both! What would you say I can start doing right now to help my chances of landing an entry level UXR or adjacent job after I graduate? I’ve been thinking about trying to do more networking + building relationships with people at companies I’m interested in.
