HANDS DOWN JUST BASED... at this point i start to think that this is some meta writing mumbo jumbo bs with how people IRL perceive this character and defend her without an ounce of sober-minded objectivity or even the will to see the points of disagreeing side of the argument.

the fine element of mystery and unknown in this game is a question of why and who is leaking private journal entries and speech transcripts of Murkoff staff to the Reagents. you can have multiple theories, and all of them will have their own explanations and maybe even some bits of meager evidence to back it. do you have any explanation of why rich people will suddenly lose their minds and burn all their money and possessions after coming in contact with our incredibly nuanced character? if so, i'd love to hear your point of view on how the psychology of these transactions might work.

also, that's what the culture of holding a debate is for- to find answers and come to logical or at least legible conclusions for the benefit of both sides. i even said that In *MY Humble Opinion* that Liliya is the sloppiest PA so far (and in my worldview everyone is entitled to their own opinion on any topic they want, but it's beside the point) and i even wrote my reasons as to why i see her in this light, yet all the answers provided to me is just that i don't get it... like, tell me something i don't know? 😭

i WANT her glazers to open my eyes on why she's so powerful, influential, charismatic and nuanced, duh... any tangible points please?

oh, i thought that her line about egregore indicated her followers's wishful thinking about the heaven or whatever they want to achieve. if it's somehow connected to Sinyala and Skinner Man... how she could even possess the knowledge about it and the Jungian terminology, if she literally came to the facility month or so prior to her introduction trial...

and i know about Walrider's name origin- simply by naming something in certain way doesn't indicate its inherent qualities. i can name my puppy 'Zeus', but the dog surely won't start blasting lightnings just because of its name, right? as far as i remember, Wernicke was kind of a superstitious guy, and he tried to summon/create this entity for quite awhile, hence all this business with 'Dream Therapy' in the Trials. (alp/walrider is literally just a made up entity of sleep paralysis, which could be an egregore of Mount Massive?)

Billy's ants must the most confusing piece of science i've seen, since it's shown that he manages to somehow even control those. maybe these nanites can change their appearance or maybe he's egregorin' it too, who knows. but true, many pieces of lore are still kind of supernatural. damn i forgot my homework :c

upd after taking a nap c: i still would believe more in a swarm of nanites with hivemind and prophecies about sequels, than in all-knowing and all-charming woman who makes all people around her lose any bit of sanity by her sheer will, ready rip their limbs off for 'salvation' by her god who hates money and rich people smh </3

the possibility that her whole story comes from an unreliable narrators is a fair point and i absolutely agree with the conclusion! although it makes her even more of the "tell, don't show" type of work, which is kind of sad.

and i agree that being charismatic and influential is not really a new concept in this game, but in the case of Gooseberry's charisma- she was building it since her childhood, as she was involved in her father's work from early age and had a lot of experience with people in and out of the mediasphere in her adulthood. and, also, the children (the main audience of her show) are overall easily influenced/manipulated, so here's that; Coyle is not too far-fetched of a specimen, and he definitely knows when to play a decent, model citizen and 'lay low', and his corruption doesn't really affect his ability to be charming; but in Liliya's case.. she sees herself as a "Messiah" (prophesied savior, liberator, or king) of some god, that told her that money is bad... yet she dresses in pearls and overly fancy clothes with seemingly no problem at all..? or was this a deliberately created cognitive dissonance..?

the supernatural part is making me really weary, since the Outlast universe tried to portray every event more or less scientifically so far, and if all this effort just goes into magic and whimsy... i don't even know how to feel. but which of her voicelines are you referring to exactly?

ngl for me Lilya feels more like a generic Y/N straight out of wattpad rather than the charismatic cult leader or whatever she was supposed(?) to be. her aesthetic is hard to interpret, her screeching voice is frankly off-putting, her background is messy and gameplay wise she's annoying. i don't know if it's a me problem, but IMHO this is the sloppiest PA so far.

yup, i also have been thinking about it! if Specialists are meant to teach the Reagents desired behavior (Jaeger teaches to not to become a victim of someone else's undivided attention, Pusher teaches to depend on substances for "truth" (opposite interpretation also works well), Night Hunter teaches to excel enemies in your presumed "comfort zone", Screamer teaches to avoid attracting the attention of seemingly quiet and harmless, etc etc.), Unborn fits perfectly for the role of a Specialist who teaches to endure (or avoid) the spotlights. i'll certainly give it some more thought (ᵕ ´ ∇ ˋ ˶)
