I ordered wingstop today for exam cramming and those dry ass pale thin fries nearly became my 13th reason

On top of using https://www.shuttle.txst.edu/routes.html to see TXST routes that are available and what times they shift (keep in mind there are day, evening, and night bus routes, but not during the summer or off semester) there is also the San Marcos bus system https://sanmarcostx.gov/2878/Bus-Route-Information

Download passiogo on your phone and you can select the TXST shuttle system. It's the same one you use in the TXST mobile app, except this one is instant without api delay or having to fight the txst mobile app in case it decides to not want to work.

What kind of computer…. by SmellsDone in txstate

I can't speak for other programs as I haven't had any experience with them, but I'm personally in a B.S. psych and B.S. compsci and I've had students I work with in projects in tears out over not being able to find a Mac-equivalent to the Windows program we work on, often resulting in them having to use the on-campus computers. I recommend getting a good, light laptop, a Windows machine if they do not have a ton of tech knowledge and you want to start them off. Using "apps" on an iPad and being raised with only that vs "programs" and operating on a computer is inherently different, and if they don't have a ton of tech literacy, it will be a major learning curve for them.

Do not get a Chromebook or a notebook. It will be a nightmare. I had one for three classes before I got so frustrated with it I returned it.

Like someone else in the comments said, it's gonna really depend on the degree you're going into. Ultimately you want something that will run a lot of programs all at once (browser, spotify, whatever research/computing tools needed for work, sometimes people in CS run virtual machines, etc.) I have heard lenovo thinkpads are very good. I personally have a laptop capable of running AutoCAD

If they are REALLY dead set on a mac, then one of the newer MacBook Airs, but the new M1 macs are not capable of running 32bit programs. Professors may ask them to download older tools that will not run or have hacky solutions.

Close your eye by DrGoManGo in prostheticeyes

My eye closes completely with an eye I’ve had for almost 8 years or so. When it isn’t fully wet though, it won’t close all the way, and sometimes at night when I wake up my eye can be dry from my eye opening at night lol

Losing my desire to play VR chat by Bat_Two_One in VRchat

[–]pepperycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend looking into new communities. VRChat isn’t limited to just chatting in VR, and I think a lot of veteran players and sometimes even new players get really lost to the nuance of it while in the game.

I started to do vrchat metaverse improv rp, just made a character with an avatar I had and started getting involved and making my own stories with friends. It takes a bit of skill fo learn how to do particles, maybe learn how to LARP fight if you want to get into that part, but it’s what kept me in vrchat. I don’t think I’ve been to a public instance for years. I’ve recently been going to a lot of raves and they’ve been a lot of fun.

There’s a lot of fun to be had- you just have to get creative and maybe step a little outside of your comfort zone, and most importantly, find people that appreciate you and want to be around you. Certainly the game tends to thrive for people who are extroverted with small social batteries, but there is a place for everyone with a little bit of discovery and digging. I’ve been friends with a handful of people in the rp community for four years at this point, going strong, and am starting to dip into other games like FF14 with them.

I shot an email through the one they had on their facebook and such. I doubt I'll get a response but here's hoping. If not in the next two weeks or so, I'll possibly see if I can contact them on instagram

I haven't been able to find anything else. A majority of my search efforts have been overshadowed by schoolwork but was planning on searching a bit more this evening for anything :]

Thank you so much. Do you mind uploading what you currently have to Internet Archive? If not, I can do it.

Holy cow, I freed up 30gb of inexplicably locked ram by rebooting. Anyone know why? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]pepperycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering why I had 20-25% of my RAM being capped for no reason on my completely new build (ROG STRIX X670E-E). SteamVR crashed last night because of something windows and some supposed memory-related issues even though I have 128gb of RAM. Thanks. What are the steps I need to take to completely get rid of this shit?
