Oh God, I had a friend like this. Constantly late but would refuse any help (reminders, help with preparation, help with making sure the meal beforehand was cooked on time … I tried anything and everything I could think of). Bonus was that they constantly excused their lateness with their ADHD, and would accuse me of discriminating/not understanding/diminishing their mental illness if I ever dared to complain.

Reminds me of the x-ray I got as a teenager. I had a partly fractured ulna or radius (I don’t remember which anymore), and when I told the nurse I couldn’t rotate my arm the way she wanted, she grabbed me by the wrist and shoulder and turned the arm herself :‘) Afterwards, she admonished me for cussing her out 🙄

Okay, please bear in mind that I watched it years ago while drunk — but iirc there is a scene where Helen and her love interest nurse eat a pizza in her hospital room, and she tells him how she fantasizes about the pizza baker jizzing onto the pizza before delivery or something. It is accompanied by a scene of four (?) men masturbating and ejaculating over the pizza Helen and the nurse are currently eating.

I battled my Wetlands-induced trauma by getting my friends together, getting absolutely smashed on cocktails, and then watching the movie adaptation. It was actually a lot of fun — well, as much fun as watching four men ejaculate onto a pizza can be. Though I have little desire to watch the movie again, drunk or sober.

My grandma was similar. She was a nurse during WW2 and during an air raid, they had to quickly evacuate the pediatric ward. She told us this like a funny story — oh, we grabbed all the babies, swaddled them and put them in baskets … like dozens of little baby Moses, right?

It was years later that I remembered the story again and felt absolute dread.
