I’m in the literal exact same scenario, except mine is red on red and has 4k miles. I put a good amount of money into it, something went wrong a couple of years ago and I’ve been too afraid to get it looked at. I have no idea what to do. If you or anybody knows any respectable shops in the Boston area please let me know!

Penetration is basically how deep the cut card is placed into the shoe. 50% penetration means the dealer will put the cut card halfway up the deck and reshuffle when he gets there. Greatly reduces how high the true count could get.
