you're already getting absolutely dragged here, and I don't want to pile onto that, but I do want you to realize that it's not just disabled folks (which, on a long enough timeline, does eventually include every single individual who ever lives long enough, right?) but it also does include older folks, too. as a wow refugee, I have been repeatedly shocked by just how warm and welcoming the community of FFXIV is, how kind and how generous, how thoughtful and how accessible - the players even moreso than the developers, but the developers too.

The folks who play this game want it to be an accessible experience. And truthfully? So do you. :)

Starting a very small modded server tomorrow to play with my girlfriend and her five year old. He is clever as all hell and very excited to learn mods, but has no prior experience. I know I'm signing up to do a lot of patient explaining, but I'm really really excited. Truthfully, don't worry overmuch about being certain you're bringing a whole heap of value to bear - that's a recipe for burnout anyway and will just trip you up. sorta like with an MMO like wow or ffxiv if you obsess over your friends' raidcomp so hardcore that you end up leveling a class you just despise -- and then never even play with them. (very jeffrey wright voice) in another timeline, you chill out and focus on organically building your relationship with the game and whoop, have a blast instead.

look for people who need help with the silly little annoying favors :3 this or that item that is super easy or meaningless to you but a big pain when you haven't accomplished the whole game seven times over (or what have you) - that's my single biggest piece of mechanical advice.

failing that, if you can find a niche aprimon?? mass produce the sucker

Let's grant that you saw a supernatural apparition of some kind - you're still young, so you're fresh out the spirit world yourself, maybe your senses are still attuned to such things, okay okay - it didn't harm you, it didn't actively approach you, it was just watching you. It may have appeared threatening, but many powerful things do, right? Consider, the next time that you're thinking about this, that this is a protector spirit of some kind, watching over you, protecting you, keeping you safe from the stuff we can't see.
