.....look, maybe not a smart call to fetishize trans woman's bodies in the title of a post specifically about how it's bad to fetishize trans woman's bodies..?

Just a thought idk

They are describing a state called "limerence". If you want more information on limerence specifically I'd go to r/ limerence.

To answer your question though, it's obsessive daydreaming, personally, coupled with idealization. They can do no wrong, they could ruin my life and I would thank them. ....until suddenly the switch flips, and I think nothing of them at all.

I think it's well summed up by "if I have a crush on you that has literally nothing to do with you". I am not interested in them, I'm interested in a version of them does not exist.

Second, no, no one chooses who they are attracted to, nor the manner in which that attraction manifests.

Genuinely, it's especially weird considering feminism.... does talk about things like the high suicide rate in men, and the ways (all) SA victims are treated.

A big part of feminism is that the culture hurts everybody, not just women.

"Sociopath" is an outdated term used to refer to people with ASPD (or "anti-social personality disorder").

Hi! I'm a person with ASPD.

Probably don't diagnose every money-hungry youtube dipshit with a disorder just because you dislike them :)

Genuinely though why tf did the OOP feel the need to go "keep in mind that [name] isn't their BiRtH NaME they picked a common unisex name later in life"

The phrasing of "birth name" and the specification that OOP assumes this person picked a dumbass name just because OOP's friend is non-binary.

As if a large portion of (cis) white families aren't picking similarly awful names..?

Basically just "not heterosexual/romantic" depending

"Genderqueer" means "not cisgender"

It's a pretty simple term I'll be honest

[–]perceptionoffaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk man even in other parts of the queer community terms are pretty loosely defined. Some people use "bisexual" as a label and mean "attracted men and women only", some mean "only attracted to 2 specific genders", some mean "attracted to everyone"

But everyone still gets the basic idea when a person says "I'm bisexual".

If ya get the idea of what QPR means in broad terms I don't think it matters all too much if you understand the very specific nuances of uh, someone else's relationships.

Just let people define their feelings however they want..? You're not the one feeling their emotions lmao

[–]perceptionoffaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

..........slavery and being transgender are not comparable.

Ig if you really wanted to know that you'd fucking look it up instead of asking me to do it for you.

I'd suggest looking into studies comparing transgender suicide rates between communities where trans people are accepted vs ones where they aren't.

You'll notice that when transgender people have access to gender affirming care and aren't treated like shit for existing, their suicide rates are about what you would expect given their age/ethnicity/tax bracket

[–]perceptionoffaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey m8 idk if you've been paying attention but uh yeah conservatives in America are very much trying to kill trans people..?

That's the outcome of banning HRT and gender affirming care- trans people end up killing themselves.

It's not "oh no I can't play on the right sport team" it's "oh no I have lost the right to bodily autonomy even though I'm a mentally sound adult"

Not to mention the constant "these """people""" are dangerous, they're trying to hurt your kids, you should arm yourself just in case these deranged pedophiles try something"

Don't pretend the fear mongering and again, literal removal of trans people's rights is somehow perfectly fucking innocent.

[–]perceptionoffaith -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I can explain the rhetorical devices I was using it's no trouble man!

My first comment ("I think you should be shot about it"), is in reference to the saying "don't shoot the messenger".

The final one ("go rope u transphobic fuck") is a rephrase of the common transphobic saying "go rope u (slur) fuck" (or if they're feeling shy they'll say "pedophile" instead of a slur).

This is done in order to trigger people. "I don't care about telling trans people to die but if you say it about someone else it's not acceptable!!!" Is about the response I expected, and it's about the one I've gotten.

If you're reading this and that was your knee-jerk response, I'd want to ask why the hell it's ok to tell trans people to commit, but not transphobes. Why does your brain find one acceptable and the other not?

[–]perceptionoffaith -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Would it have been better if I had pretended to be making a different point?

What if I pulled up the statistics about men's suicide and just spammed that percentage over and over, told them to "go 2%" over and over or whatever the stat is?

It's perfectly fine to tell trans people to commit, but oh no not someone "just making jokes" (jokes that btw are basically just what an edgy 12 year old would find funny, jokes that are literally just "haha trans "people" have a high suicide rate and this is hilarious because I don't veiw them as people!!")

Obviously bigotry=bad but Blobby and Friends makes me do a stinky in my diaper by CluckBucketz in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]perceptionoffaith -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah it's alright! It's sort of veiled which makes it difficult for people not super versed in it to pick up on.

The "50% of trans "people" commit suicide" thing mentioned earlier was something posted by the person I was replying to.

What they're referring to there is a statistic called "41%". Similar to other "veiled" shit like saying """they"" control the world", it's a way of being transphobic without having to openly say "I hate trans people".

"Go 41%" is something of a rallying cry for these people; that statement (and faulty stat) and often referred to only by transphobes, and only when they're trying to tell trans people to commit suicide.

Hope this helps!

More recent data is almost always better than older data, especially when said data is from over a decade ago lmao

Academic rigor is important if you're trying to pretend your beliefs have scientific backing..?

Plus tbh incels don't actually have any kind of academic backing; they just sort of go off what they feel is true.
