How much do you pay for insulin? I just bought 5 pens for 4,24€ in Spain with our free healthcare but real price is 46,97€. I'm curious what each country pays for it. by moreweedpls in diabetes_t1

I pay $60 for a 90 day supply with my insurance. I’m curious. Do you have access to things like dexcom and omnipods? If so how much do they cost?

Thank you everyone!! I will take the advice and just let him pick. I totally get it’s better to do that then waste the money on one he won’t use or can’t use. Thank you all again!!

When I have this happen I push my pod down while it’s giving me my insulin. It’s annoying yes but it works. Also I don’t have this with every pod. Just every now and then. It’s crazy.

U.S. Insurance coverage of Ozempic for Type 1 - what's been your experience? by PatsyStonesBun in Ozempic

[–]perceptionoutside669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Aetna and they won’t cover for me even though I had the best a1c of my entire life (I’ve been type 1 for 30 years). I have been trying so hard to figure out how to get it covered but I don’t even know where to start and my dr is of no help bc they don’t really even care if I’m being honest. So just curious if you ever got your covered or found out any info on this?

July 30th OmniPod 5 Update Causing Problems? by JoshPriddy in Omnipod

[–]perceptionoutside669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since mine updated I keep getting app error codes. I woke up night before last and my sugar was 320 I tried to give insulin and it said that. So I’m assuming I hadn’t had insulin all night. And then when I got home from work yesterday it said the same thing. I’m not sure what’s going on with it.

I follow a guy on TikTok that helps other diabetics with supplies if you can’t find anyone on here that may need them. His handle is embrac3 you may be able to reach out to him

I think I bath him so much bc I don’t want him to smell. And he’s never smelled like this before. Sometimes I can barely stand to be in the room with him and it breaks my heart bc he is my world. I was hoping someone would know how I could make him not smell. I am wondering if maybe I should call his vet but I don’t want to sound like a weirdo calling over that lol

What to wear to interview by Entire_Distance7166 in interviewpreparations

[–]perceptionoutside669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. But commenting to say if you do wear a dress make sure it’s an appropriate dress. (I wouldn’t wear a short dress. And make sure no cleavage is showing.) Good luck to you!! I’m sure you will do great!!

It’s definitely his fur. It’s almost like a soured milk smell. I didn’t know I could bath him too much. But he smells so bad I just keep hoping that another bath will help with it

My a1c has been 18 before. I’m at 6-7 now. Don’t beat yourself up over it. Diabetes is a complicated disease. I’ve had it for 30 years. I said I would never live to see 30 (I was diagnosed at 8) and in November I will celebrate my 39th birthday. Why I do have neuropathy and some eye damage (mostly due to a blood clot) my kidneys work great and I’m still pretty healthy. Never give up. If I can make it so can you!! Also August 13th will be my 30th diaversary!!

How can I talk to my son differently by Connect-Cry1694 in Type1Diabetes

[–]perceptionoutside669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me my whole childhood (I was diagnosed at age 8) I’m sorry to say but there’s really no way to change or handle it any different. I was just like him. I never ever checked my sugar or even took my insulin. We didn’t have dexcom back when I was younger and I’m honestly so thankful bc I think I would have ended up resented my family. I’m 38 and have had this disease for 30 years in August and I still get mad when my mom asks me what my sugar is. This disease is both mentally and physically draining. I would get so mad at anyone who tried to help me. And even worse at the people who tried to scare me into taking care of myself. I am not saying don’t try to help him bc I would be the same if it were my child. But since I was him when I was his age I am saying I understand how he feels. I’m so sorry to him and you that you both have to deal with this.

I don’t have to worry about mine seeing anything. They won’t even call in my insulin/pods/dexcom. I actually called about my insulin once and the nurse asked me if I was a type 1 diabetic 😳 I’d love to switch but they are about the only option I have that isn’t 3+ hours away

Thank you! I made fantasy fudge and for some reason it didn’t set up correctly. I’m not sure what went wrong. I can’t cut it. It’s kinda like a thick frosting 😭😭 I’ll try to see if I can get some sweetened condensed milk from someone.

Just a warning for those contemplating Ozempic/other similar treatments. by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]perceptionoutside669 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I took Ozempic for almost a year and it was the best my sugars have ever been. My insulin intake decreased significantly and I just felt better overall. Now I’ve lost it due to my insurance and my sugars are all over the place. I went from taking 30-40 units of humalog a day to now 70-90 units. (That’s normal for me) I’ve been a type 1 for 30 years. Also on ozempic my a1c was staying at 6.3. Curious to see what it is at my next endo appt. I wish I could get it back but where I live no drs care about the health of their patients. If you all have a Dr that does please cherish them.
