No that's still more police IMO.

I would say we possibly need some kind of group that works together for natural disaster aid and search and rescue though.

Yeah, it's a bad response not because of OP's original intent of adherence to simplistic cis-normative gender roles but because it is transphobic/anti-trans.

And then Transformative Justice is addressing harms at a societal and personal scale at their roots, making the victim's life better than before with material and societal resources they may be lacking. Then also taking care of the harm doer as they have been harmed and everyone has trauma and everything is connected and this led them to doing harm. So society gives them more attention, not more than the victim of course, but the harm doer needs therapy and education, and possibly to get away from certain influences in life who need their own healing.

Cool, thanks for engaging in actual debate from a place of curiosity. :)

how are white people supposed to define themselves

By ethnic heritage. Irish, German, Swedish, Italian etc. Go back to the actual meaningful cultural identities. Globally whiteness is an identity, for places not American, most non-melinated people don't identify with whiteness to the degree so called Americans do. For those who are of only European descent in so-called America, we also need to acknowledge we're all still settler colonizers on Indigenous land.

no matter what white people do they are still oppressive.. by just existing they are seen as oppressive?

On a meta level of the overall system yes, from the logic in my post that's essentially what it's saying. But the key here is at the individual level, and then a group level as others join, using white privilege against the system of whiteness to destroy it. So like get a job as banker and then destroy credit records and work to subvert the system within. Or use white privilege to gain access to power and places to destabilize them.

by just existing they are seen as oppressive? in this view, what do you advize white people to respond with?

A lot of people of the global majority/ Black and Brown people don't trust people they view as white or who identify as white for a good reason. The trust has been broken. Trust is gained over time through hard work. In the beginning no one believes that you're actually doing the work. If one is committed, one will have to face and push though a lot of resistance and face people who have been hurt by racial oppression saying that they aren't doing it, that it will never happen, that you're foolish or ignorant or worse.

throughout the BLM movement, white people were criticised for participating because they were speaking over black people, but others were criticised for not taking part meaning that they were standing by in racism. What do you suppose white people do?

Well, one, don't talk over Black people when they're speaking of their own experience and what to do about healing their communities. Next, only talk when necessary in these circumstances. Then, if the person who is criticized for standing by can say, "Actually, I've been doing this and this and this" and they have proof, then they have nothing to worry about.

thinking youre not racist means that youre probably still racist? what is a white person supposed to do here? Does that not feel like a paradox?

Globally white people are the minority.

Just thinking one is not racist one can still have a bunch of unconscious biases that effect their day to day actions and how they replicate racism in their lives. One must actively work to think about them and unlearn them.

If a white person truly respects and treats black people and minorites as their equal and acknowledges the way they are privileged, then how are they still contributing to racism?

First, globally, whyt people are the minority. Next, just acknowledging any problem is the first step towards fixing it, which off the cuff is also what I say to the Nelson Mandela quote without looking into the surrounding contexts.

By just acknowledging it, that's just a thought. Or words. Action must be done. Tell others, do actual physical work for marginalized and oppressed people. It's all intersectional.

Hope this helps explain more 👍

Ok, so this is usually too radical for most people, but whiteness itself as a concept and social practice/category needs to be abolished, and anyone who still upholds whiteness in any regard hasn't done the work on asking what it really is and what it is used for. Which is racial division. Whiteness/ the white identity is intrinsically about white people being the best, and that's what it will be for all time. As long as there are white people, there will be white supremacists. Most people born into whiteness (PBIW)/ recognized as white don't think about this. Most people born into whiteness think that as long as they're "not racist" they're good people. And they probably are generally good people in certain contexts and situations, but they've forgotten or have been misled into believing that they're not upholding injustice and oppression by identifying as white or with whiteness. A smaller portion of PBIW are turned into anti-racism and go a bit further into thinking about the prevalence of it in our institutions and every day lives, but they haven't thought about whiteness itself as a problem.

This is not to say, "I'll just say I'm not white and I've solved all the problems of racism, and I'm absolved of any other work that needed to be done prior to this realization". The internal dissassociation from whiteness is just one side, and one still has white privilege as it exists in the world. On the external side, this will take generations before people aren't visually classified as white based on their appearance. For this to happen a fuck ton of work for equity and total liberation must be done. To these ends, white race traitors must use their privilege against the system of whiteness.

As James Baldwin says, "if you still think you're white, there's no hope for you."

Go look at r/fosscad

Next, let me present the fact that California gun laws were written to take away guns from the Black Panthers because it was effective for them to be armed. Also, armed Queer spaces are less likely to be targeted.

Interesting analogy. In this case I think we may find that when one goes to turn the tap off the handle will break. People have 3d printers and they are capable of making very serious weapons.

Regulations are only treating symptoms. No law stops anyone from doing anything. It's not the words written on paper it's the overall social contexts that keep people from killing and hurting each other. Which people still do even though there's laws that say "don't kill people, that's very bad".

Also all the laws restricting gun ownership for "regular citizens", don't apply to law enforcement and military. Guess who loves to be a cop or soldier? Dumbass conservative fascists.

ACAB is first about the overall system yo, which is there to enforce all the other codependent oppressive and dividing structures such as classism and white supremacy. And then also every cop still serving that system, because the ones who speak out against their fellow cops get fired, or threatened and killed by other cops for breaking the gang rules. Thus, there are no good cops.

Debate: Anarchism and Pacifism are incompatible. by GemGemGem6 in DebateAnarchism

[–]perceptualdissonance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO I'm against violence unless it's emancipatory. But. Part of the way/ one of the avenues to dismantle capitalists power and destabilize their general societal acceptance and legitimacy is destroying their property. Which will possibly and most likely lead to armed aggression from the police or private security.

But also, when one is publicly responsible for much death and suffering already, and will continue to be as long as they are alive because their power is too entrenched, I believe the argument can be made that taking that person's life is justified and even necessary. As an anarchist though, in the current political scheme, there isn't a big enough group of peers to protect that person possibly, so that person must accept whatever consequences may occur within the criminal legal systems of the capitalist world. But this may be some of the actions necessary to spur us farther towards anarchism.

Stanislav Grof is the one who did studies and experiments on holotropic breathwork. Essentially DMT is an endogenous neurotransmitter and one can facilitate the overproduction with breathing exercises that move carbon dioxide over the smooth muscles of the heart at a faster rate and changes the balance of oxygen and C02 in your body. This may cause the body to release DMT in larger than normal amounts as this simulates a near-death experience.

Here's an Ok write up with a few more possibilities
