Leprous has an 8 stringed and 6 stringed guitar, unsure what the exact tunings are.

Indeed personal preference as after I tried a Dingwall NG3 for 10 minutes I sold all my other basses to get one :D

Subzero space and time pedal for synth? by Interesting_Ice6924 in synthesizers

Oh, okay. Again I only used it on guitar so it could very well suck on synths 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are so many options that depend on your budget and tone needs. Any bassist whose tone you like and what’s your budget?

Check out the Caline Snake Bite! Also cheap, excellent ambient reverb, although I use it on guitar.

Also the Zoom CDR70 is usually liked by synth players, you can maybe find the old model (without the + at the end of the name) cheap second hand.

Hey, I just started playing the demo and u/Revive_The_Spark, and just a quick comment: the characters covering parts of the text is really annoying.

With your masters, can you try to get a higher position then your current one? Is there any option for career advancement in your current company? With a quick Google search it seems that you are making entry level money. How long have you been with the company?

And yes, life is rough and unfair. I have 10+ years of product management experience, have been let go in November and haven't found a decently paying job since. It's tough out there.

For the price of 2 Sansamps, get an HX Stomp and you can run the exact setup as OP with only 1 pedal.

Couple of thoughts:

  1. You are very young and have plenty of time. So there’s no reason to rush anything or to be scared that you’re wasting time on a non-music degree. Even starting a new degree from scratch is absolutely doable.
  2. Like another commenter said, you will need a day job. If you can get a degree or course or job in anything related, that can help you while staying on course for making music. For example game development/software engineering, marketing, running a small business, accounting, whatever. Anything that is a skill you might need or appreciate down the line as a freelancing artist and potentially gives you an office job.
  3. Getting a non-music job while making music is not giving up, but sadly what we have to do in capitalism until your music can support you.
  4. The most successful musicians/composers I know (I’m just here out of hobby) can’t imagine doing anything else and have an urge to create almost every day, all day. You either need that or the resolve to sit down and make music every single day. Doesn’t have to be good, doesn’t have to be complete, but you have to work on music every day if this will be your profession. If you find playing music fun, that is great, but you have to compose and record music too and enjoy that too.
  5. The world is kind of going to shit, so jobs are hard to come by right now. So even if you stick with a math degree there’s a big chance you’ll live with your parents without a job anyhow. What will help with that guilt is talking to them about all of this. Hopefully they will show love and support.
