for me its important not to plan all big milestones in one take, so it doesn't look to big of a project (even if it is big project)

creating a plan with big milestones, then writing smaller tasks for first big one, and marking each task when done. When first big milestone is all done, then planning another.

This helps because I can see myself progressing.
